b. 3 Nov 1944 d. 29 Jun 2006 OBITUARY: Russell D. Savage Russell Douglas Savage of Shelton died on June 29 at Mason General Hospital from complications of heart and lung disease. He was 61. He was born on November 3, 1944, in Shelton. His family moved back to Shelton in 1952 after having lived in Belfair and Schnieder's Prairie. He attended elementary school in Shelton and graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1963. He specialized in the carpentry program and continued with it the rest of his life. He did most of his work in the Shelton area. He felt connected to Shelton and loved the people here. he would never turn anyone away and was generous to a fault, his family said. Russell loved to dance. He liked to sing karaoke. He played on pool teams and was an expert shuffleboard player. He was a kind and gentle man who tried never to take advantage of people and was liked by all. He is survived by brothers Herb Savage of Tacoma, Dewain Savage of Seattle; sister Pat Canterbury of Spokane, Virdonna Savage of Tacoma and Christena Simpson of Shelton; a numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, at McComb Funeral Home in Shelton, with a celebration of his life to follow at the 40 et 8 Blue Ox Room.
