b. 8 Nov 1944 d. 5 Dec 2003 in Buffalo, WY OBITUARY: Charles (Al) Wagner Former Shelton resident Charles Allan Wagner died of cancer Friday, December 5, at his home near Buffalo, Wyoming. He was 59. He was born November 8, 1944 in Aberdeen to Charles and Thadella Wagner. The family lived in Garden City until he was seven years old, when they moved to Kamilche. He graduated from Irene S. Reed High School (1963). After high school, he went to work for Simpson Timber Company and attended classes at Olympic College in Bremerton. He married Millie Selvidge on July 23, 1993 in Story, Wyoming. They made their home in Shelton. Mr. Wagner and his first wife had five children and he continued working for Simpson until 1985. In 1999, the Wagners moved to Buffalo, Wyoming, where he spent a couple of years building their (log) home. He took a job at the Johnson County Co-op in 2000 and worked there until ill health forced him to retire. He was an avid baseball fan and sponsored local teams. he played baseball in high school and continued to be active in softball as an adult. Mr. Wagner loved woodworking and made beautiful furniture. He also liked spending time with his friends and in the mountains hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his mother. He preceded his father, Charles Anthony Wagner of Shelton, in death by three days. Survivors include his wife, Millie Wagner of Buffalo, Wyoming; son Cory Wagner of Olympia; daughters Lois Smith and her husband Blair of Olympia, Kris Wagner of Tacoma, Ann Wagner and her partner Jeff Johns, and Tricia Woolett and her husband Gary, all of Shelton. Also surviving are stepsons Trevor Dunn of Ventura, California, and Torrie Dunn of Shelton; brothers Dennis Wagner of Tennessee and Skip Brinkley of Montesano; sisters Bev Cochran and Bonnie Hall of Shelton, Ione Seigler of Olympia, and Joan Smith of Plains, Montana. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 28, in Building 13 at the Mason County Fairgrounds. A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, December 10, at our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Story, Wyoming.
