Donna Scofield (Smith)

Scofield-Smith Donna MaeBelle Scofield-Smith, a lifelong Shelton resident, died Wednesday, January 9, following a seizure at her home. She was 56. She was born August 26, 1945 in Olympia to Donald T. and MaeBelle (Lucky) Hickam. She served in the Army from September 1963 to February 1965 and was a private first class E-3 at the time of her discharge. She worked as a transcriptionist for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, where she was honored with a Service All Star Award. Her interests included reading, writing to pen pals, going to garage sales, fishing and camping. She was active in The Rock (Restoration Outreach Church of Kamilche). Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Westfall of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brothers Joe Hickam of Mabton and Keith Hickam of Tacoma; sister Yvonne VanDuyn of Tacoma; and granddaughter Sarah Westfall of Rome, New York. A funeral service was held Monday, January 14, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in Shelton. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Hospice, 3706 Griffin Lane SE, Olympia, 98501. Arrangements are by McComb Funeral Home in Shelton.
