Mr. Moorehead attended the Univ. of Washington and Western Washington University. He was a music teacher in Shelton and Forks and loved to play trombone and trumpet. He also enjoyed gardening. Husband of Robin Harmon, married 9/12/85 in Hoodsport, WA. He was my teacher for 4 years, but he was also my neighbor up on May Street, and my sister and I babysat his kids. I always considered him one of the coolest musicians and people I ever met. Our marching trips, especially to Nanaimo, BC and Wenatchee, were some of the most memorable experiences of my young life. That, and pushing a beer keg with a lawn-mower handle up and down Railroad Avenue at 3am trying to set a world record while raising money for uniforms! He often acted younger, but he was 33 when I graduated, and seemed older and wiser than that. These were comments left on the funeral home's website in 2006, and pretty well convey how we in Shelton felt about him, especially this first one: Mr. Moorehead will always have a special place in my heart. When he came to Forks, he turned the band program around and helped us make it into something we could be proud of. He found ways for us to raise money to buy new uniforms. He taught us how to march. I will never forget him and I think there's a whole generation of Forks kids who won't either. May he rest in peace. I hope it gives his family joy to know the impact he had. I was also part of that band group in the 80's in Forks. Mr. Moorehead is part of my best memories of High School. I can still picture him laughing after all these years. And shaking his head at us as well! He will truly be missed! On behalf of the Forks Community Orchestra we would like to send our condolences to the Moorehead family. We all appreciate so much the time and effort Bruce put into conducting our group. He really helped us get started, and we were so sad to hear of his passing.
