I was saddened to finally learn today that my dear friend, Ron Hayes, was killed in a helicopter accident in Kenai AK, in October of 1971.  Transferring in from Friday Harbor High School, he spent only his senior year in Shelton, but we became very close and had many memorable times together.  He moved to Alaska shortly after graduation and I have thought of him often over the years, but unable to find his whereabouts.  I shall sincerely miss him.
