Geez Vick, no offense but you kinda look like a Pez dispenser. (retro candy reference)

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

None taken, Mark! It's a running joke.

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

Um, hopefully David will be back. Shall we start the chant?

DAVID

DAVID

Hope everyone has a great night! Gotta rustle up some dinner!

Looks like a fun day today on the old message board!! Hey, here is a question for you guys...What is East End like these days? ( as I haven't been back there since 1995) Technically in high school I didn't live in East End - more Hensley I think (the end of Springlake Road). Since we were talking about Springlake, Woodson Lateral, etc...last night I was curious. When I left we had the grocery store, David's Barber Shop, Tastee Corner, the Dress Shop, The school, a lot of little churches, and that is about it.

Oh and that big mysterious monastery. Marylake?

12/13/08 01:52 AM #1179

Mark Avant (1985)

Chuck, the few things I noticed when I was there last: the intersection of East End road and Arch street has been reworked, much safer intersection. And the area around Springlake has a new upscale subdivision in place of the woods. I don't know about the monastary, very cool place though.
You would've been proud of your old buddy Mark tonite. Got together with some friends at a local venue and Karaoked the place to the ground! The highlight of the nite (if I say so myself) was my duet with a guy named Jorge from El Salvador. I won't go into details, but you haven't lived until you've heard Queen's "Under Pressure" with Freddie's parts in English and Bowie's parts in Spanish. Maybe a world 1st.

The Karaoke experience sounds very politically correct. Or maybe it was not politically correct! It doesn't matter...I am sure that everyone said "what the h-e+2 x hockey sticks". I am sure that Jorge (pronounced "Hoar-hay" not George!!!) was honored to rock the night out with you, David and Freddie. Although one of your earlier posts kinda makes me wonder...When you were talking about parking at the old Springlake Country Club road...all I could think about was FRIDAY THE 13TH...Romantic setting (trashed out old creepy building), full moon, romantic music on your 6x9 pioneers in your plush, spacious CRX and piped from Magic 105...and some strange whispering..."kill, kill, kill...hah, hah, hah". Dude, how in the h-e, double golf clubs could you park at the Springlake Country Club without thinking that Jason wasn't going to rear his ugly hockey masked head!!!! That place was straight outta Friday the 13th!!!

*Vicki Ausbrooks gets credit for the "h-e double" acronyms.

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

LOL!!! As much as I'd love the credit for that, I stole it from someone else on the forum about 100 pages back! Just got goosebumps with the whole Jason Voorhees thing...what are they up to now with Friday the 13th? Isn't it up to #75 or something? The first couple of them were pretty good. Chuck, I had to go watch the "Freakazoid" vid on youtube. Yes, they actually have it. So, now I'm like: "Z...O...I...D...S FREAKAZOID" CLASSIC!

Richard Wade (1989)

Vicki did you run David off? LOL. What happened??

12/13/08 10:16 AM #1183

Aaron Wilson (1988)

I haven't seen the last dozen Friday 13th movies... but if they went the way of the original Superman movies or Batman movies, they shoulda stopped at 2 or 3. :) Speaking of Batman... rented Dark Night last night. I got to see it at the IMAX when it first came out. Wow. Oh - and hurray for "Some html tags are permitted." Nice.

12/13/08 12:55 PM #1184

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

As much as Mark may ridicule me, I must admit that I have "Freakazoid" on my I-Pod. And I am going straight to UTube to check out the vid. The last Friday the 13th I think was "Freddy vs Jason". That is a pretty ridiculous scenario. Hockey Mask + machete takes on the knife glove in the boiler room! And you know what? I bet we could kill about 10 pages of posts in here arguing about who could win- Freddy or Jason!!!

12/13/08 03:47 PM #1185

Mark Avant (1985)

Chuck, yep it's pronounced Hor-hay. I'm sure I thought it was much better than it was. Mucho cerveza was involved. My wife was very proud.
I was never into either series of movies. I thought the 1st Nighmare was funny and campy, didn't see any past that.
Didn't you pay attention to those movies. Hormones trump scary any time.

12/13/08 03:48 PM #1186

Mark Avant (1985)

Freakazoid and No Parking on the Dance floor were Charlie Goodnight staples.Oh and I can't make too much fun, I have some Cameo on mine.
Word Up!
That's pretty harsh Aaron. Couldn't find anything else, huh?

12/13/08 04:19 PM #1187

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Mark I am sure that you can karaoke well. I would never challenge you...You could probably get me onto stage without mucho cervezas if I could sing some Billy Idol! But only because I would like to shake my fists at everyone and sneer alot. Oh, and I did watch Freakazoid on Youtube. Classic!

Steve Warmack (1987)

I was "Rickrolled"

Scientology Kills...

12/14/08 04:35 PM #1190

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

I wanna shake my fists at somebody and sneer a lot too...what a coinkydink!

I was Rickrolled also. Doggone ASW! (That's Aaron Silas Wilson).

Well, somehow I managed to get all the presents wrapped today. Just thought I'd check in and see what's up...nothin' much apparently. LOL.

12/14/08 04:48 PM #1191

Mark Avant (1985)

When you get Rickrolled, you do however see some great dancin'.
Yeah been kinda dead.

12/14/08 04:53 PM #1192

Mark Avant (1985)

Was he dancin' with hisself?

12/14/08 06:11 PM #1193

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

I caught that Mark!

12/14/08 08:41 PM #1194

Aaron Wilson (1988)

That's twice I've Rick-Rolled you guys on here.

What's the saying...? Fool you once, shame on me, fool you twice, f-f-f-FOOLIN!

Or somethin like that.

12/15/08 12:20 AM #1195

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Nice move Aaron. I was very impressed and I never saw it coming. But watch out pal. (sneering) LOL. You may get rickrolled at any time! Don't consider this a challenge..."Too much advantage, your dojo!"

12/15/08 08:10 AM #1196

Steve Warmack (1987)

Poor Rick Astley.

Just when he has come to terms with the fact that he was a one-hit wonder (more or less)... and has accepted that he made one of the worst videos ever. Then the entire world starts using him as the punchline to a joke.

Imagine just a couple of years ago... Rick Astley was probably standing in a Barnes and Noble somewhere arguing with a clerk "No... that song that is on the radio right now... thats ME... RICK ASTLEY... no SERIOUSLY... here I will sing along..."

and now he hopes no-one notices him. The pinnacle of his career is now a punchline.
