Hey Vicki- Is there some reason that the pictures aren't showing I posted? That you-tube video is not showing either. Clay Hooten emailed me and said he hasn't been able to see the pictures. It was this way yesterday. I couldn't see them here at school on my computer, but when I got home I could on my laptop. Filtered maybe? Clay works at a school also???? Let me know. Thanks! Tammy

Tammy, it is some kind of filter at work, i have the same problem at my desk! but at other stations that have a higher clearance it shows up fine same way with Youtube not allowed at work!

Vicky, on your new survey, I picked a family day at the lake but I'd be all for a second event for adults with the dj and karaoke. That would be a lot of fun.

BTW, 2010 would definitely be better.

Thanks Justin! I think that is what it is. We both are teachers. That must be why.

I honestly have no recollection of the DJ night thing. I think the girls drugged me and dressed me in those running shorts. At least i hope it was the girls!
Thanks for the memories i would have forgotten this one!

chuck: I guess my right knee wore out. I did the triathlon thing for awhile and got very serious into biking in college. The arkasas points leader lived here in Russellville at the time. He said i will make a biker out of you or kill you. They would litterally leave me in the mountains and stuff but i eventually was able to keep up. All that to say that the knee won't take much more than two miles of running and it gets puffy. My wife does 4-6 a day and lifts and body builds as well. How are you and what are you doing and where etc...I wonder if anybody remembers what we wore in the winter when we ran in the eighties. I had people yelling at me and my tights out of trucks and such. you can imagine what they were yelling.

Clay-LeAnn and I take all the credit. I use to have shorts like that. I guess you must have borrowed some. LOL The others are just jealous!

Hi Clay! I am doing well. Check out my profile for the timeline of life. I am doing well. Still run obsessively. I hurt my back and was out for a couple years between 97-99. But was able to come back fine. Did a bunch of climbing while I was hurt and now I do that obsessively. So basically still the same obsessive compulsive workout goof you trained with.

Oh yeah, I guess I should comment about winter running attire in Arkansas. You definitely had to have a "Spartan" attitude about running in the winter. Mainly because of the clothing! LOL! Clay I have had Coke bottles thrown at me and I have been called every name in the book. The most "G" rated being "Run Forrest Run" and we won't discuss the others. I used to get a particularly brutal barrage of words on Sundays when I would run past East End Elem.. For whatever reason, there was always a group of dudes in the parking lot and they would give me the business. It got to a point where I had had it! I said to myself the first person who says a thing gets it! Paul Roberts used to live right there and had stepped out of his house after church or whatever and saw me, he whistled at me to get my attention. I uttered a few things without looking to see who it was and gestured a bit (I am ashamed to say) and kept going. The next time I saw Paul, it took about 15 minutes for me to explain the case of mistaken identity. He forgave me (That's Paul!). But I had to convince him that a pack of loudmouths had pushed me to the limit! But in retrospect, given what I wore in the 80's, I would make fun of myself if I saw me running by! (does that sound right?)

Sorry, David! I'm working on a afghan and I tend to get obsessed when I start a project. Won't put it down until I'm done.

Jamie, thanks for your input. You can check more than one event. We'll prolly end up making a weekend out of it with several events...something for everyone.

Clay, isn't there a pic of you somewhere hurling as you're crossing the finish line in a race? I KNOW I didn't dream that!!! Now, THAT's dedication!!! BTW, RRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGG..."Who's the fastest runner in the world?" LOL!!!

Yep, Tammy...some workplaces block the images and some block the site entirely. HOW DARE THEY??? LOL!!!

Does anyone remember those huge workout body builder mc hammer pants people were wearing in the early 90's.

Well for some reason I had a pair of those, ( zebra stripes!) and me and a buddy were kickin' it at the mall and we were walking through Dillards and there 3 or 4 salesmen standing there laughing. I overheard one of them say " I guess he is going to workout" and they all busted out. Man I couldn't get out of there fast enough!

David Fort (1989)

Jody, That is HILARIOUS!!! I wasn't working at Dillard's at the time, but sounds like something I would say. LOL!!! Everybody had those pants and the "Bad Boy" Shirts and stickers on their cars. The little dude with the spiky hair (usually in neon pink).

Vicki, an afghan, REALLY??? How old are you again? haha! Is it going to look like a Nickelback Cd cover?

03/04/09 10:33 AM #1961

Mark Avant (1985)

I stole a pair of those, in zebra stripes from Jim Taggart.
David, I think it's gonna be a Motley Crue album cover.

Justin James (1986)

I never owned any of those what ever they were called, but all things come back in style so hang on to them its just a matter of time! :) Hey maybe Vicki is making one for the FUTURE reunion that is blue and gold and say's "THE JACKET HOUSE" ???????

03/04/09 02:05 PM #1963

Clay Hooten (1987)

Vicki:

Yes I have a framed picture of me and the guy that beat me out of an all expense paid trip to Boca Raton FL for the Iron Man Quailifer. I use that pic all the time with my kids at school reminding them they can always do just a little better. The guy in front of me by about .2 of a sec was hurling all over as he crossed the finish line like projectile vomitting. I had passed at least 100 bikers on the run portion of the race and if I would have known i could have beat him too. Lessoned learned. And now I get to tell kids about stuff like that everyday to make them better

03/04/09 03:28 PM #1964

David Fort (1989)

Mark, you may very well be right bout the Motley Crue thing. It depends on how nostalgic Vicki is feeling as to whether it is her old favorite or her new. If it is Motley Crue, I wager that it will be the Theatre of Pain because the others are a little more "involved". She may feel froggy though and do Shout at the Devil or a giant mural of Vince Neil so she can lay on it and play kissee face. LOL!

03/04/09 03:35 PM #1965

Mark Avant (1985)

I like how you said involved. What does that say about Vic?
:-)

I bet even the most accomplished knitters would avoid doing live pictures of faces or guys on motorcycles. haha!

They would use a couple of balls of pink yarn just on Vinces blush.

Life sized crocheted(?) Vince Neil. Very scary

Oh! Oh! The old "boot finish" Clay? That is awesome! I have never had one, but very close before. I have seen hundreds of high schoolers do it though. Nothing to be ashamed of, and good to show your students! I loved the reference to the Hammer pants and especially the "Bad Boy Club". I am going to hit Goodwill and the other thrift shops and try so score a BBC shirt! I found some cool neon vacation "Party Resort" shirts there-I think there are possibilities!

Did the Hammer pants velcro towards the middle? I am thinking they did.
