Justin James (1986)

David Fort (1989)

Okay settle down there Rick Flair! hahaha! So I am in a beachy mood now that we have booked our vaca to Destin. Tell me Justin, what is on the menu for lunch today?

03/13/09 12:31 PM #2075

Justin James (1986)

probably a soft shell crab Loaf with fried dill pickels and a glass of sweet tea!

03/13/09 12:45 PM #2076

David Fort (1989)

Yeah, we used to go every year. We stay at Sterling Shores. Right next to The Back Porch restaurant. We love it there. We came to the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area for the last few times. We are glad to be going back to Destin again.

Did they ever finish the Gulf World in Orange Beach? The one in Panama City is really nice. A for cry better than the Gulfarium in Destin.

David Fort (1989)

OOOOOOhweeeeee that sounds good!

03/13/09 01:50 PM #2078

Gayla Rice (1989)

no david...you did not scare me away...some of us do have to work....

besides...i'm just giving you time to think up some of that great wittiness that you have to throw at me....

David Fort (1989)

Well, I had the only seafood I could get in SW Little Rock. A filet of fish at McDonalds. LOL!

03/13/09 02:46 PM #2080

Justin James (1986)

that sucks! Mickey D's fries are about the only thing worth eating there if you ask me! Oh and it was good the crab was fried just right! the pickels were a little greasy but still good, the tea was sweeeeeeeeet! and the service was HEAVEN! about 25 y/o blonde with green eyes, maybe 5'7, 130 ish? with a great southern accent and a light the world smile made you feel special that she was waitin on you! Man i love the south! :)

03/13/09 03:35 PM #2081

David Fort (1989)

Yep, southern girls are the best. I remember when I went to UALR that all the best looking girls in the sororities where Sheridan girls. Trish Tremel, Tina Tarnowski, Shiree Mauldin, (although Shiree wasn't in a sorority, she just dated a frat brother) We didn't know how good we had it.

Stacy Cunningham (Gilbert) (1989)

Dang Gayla...you made Mark say "yes ma'am" and "shutting up" I need some pointers!
David....I'm waiting on the punch line for the "sheridan girls" comment....

03/13/09 05:35 PM #2083

David Fort (1989)

No punchline needed. Just purty girls.

03/13/09 05:36 PM #2084

Justin James (1986)

Stacy I think David was singing Redneck girl by the Bellamey Brothers when he made that comment, just add Sheridan Girl in place of Redneck girl and there you have it, oh give me a give me a give me a sheridan girl!

03/13/09 07:24 PM #2085

Mark Avant (1985)

Yeah, Stacy. No punchline. Sheridan girls are what we knew.
Although I did have an ill advised bout or two with Mt.St.
Marys girls. Not the same. I did marry a Sheridan girl after
all. And I use "knew" figuratively.

Justin, earlier today I sat down at a jobsite to eat lunch and I checked the forum on my I-Phone and I read about your lunch. I looked down at my sandwich and chips and started bumming!

David, what part of East End did you live in? I lived on Deerwood Drive near the end of Springlake. Just curious because you have mentioned alot of the old haunts I used to hang out in.

Oh and Mark or David, normally I hang with the best on movie quotes, etc... but the Eddie Murphy one blew over my head like Maverick and Goose! LOL! You are referring to?

03/14/09 09:32 AM #2087

Mark Avant (1985)

Not really a movie quote, just in one of his stand up albums he talked about old people always being cold and wanting to know what time it is.
And yes I am also jealous of Justin. I was eating a West Virginia ribeye sandwhich (aka balogna) when I read that.

03/14/09 12:20 PM #2088

Justin James (1986)

living this close to the gulf and bay makes eating good sea food a given! I will try not to rub it in so much in the future! It will be hard though! Good seafood is one of the things i would miss most if we ever move from here! Hey now im down with a bologna sandwich like mine fried with 4 cuts in it, melt some cheese with miracle whip and a big thick slice of tomato! thats about as good as it gets!
Chuck, what kind of food is unique to the area out there?

03/14/09 01:22 PM #2089

Mark Avant (1985)

In Colorado? I think the main dish is quiche. heh heh. Yes! Someone else who likes Miracle Whip. My wife thinks I'm crazy. I love the tangy zip of Miracle Whip!
Speaking of quiche, one time Jody and I went on a double date, yes with girls, and he ordered quiche. I think he pronouced it gitchie. On purpose though to mess with the waitress.

03/14/09 01:24 PM #2090

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Nothing unique. Lots of Beef as this is the West. The West wasn't won on salad! I guess in Southern Colorado we have some good Mexican food-being close to New Mexico.

03/15/09 03:03 PM #2091

Stacy Cunningham (Gilbert) (1989)

Justin, I too was jealous of your lunch! I am still waiting on crawfish to come down in price...we're so far north it's still $3.99/lb. Maybe soon, my mouth is watering for some spicy crawfish, corn and taters! May be forced to bite the bullet and have our own boil!

And...I knew the punch line was coming about Sheridan girls...just thought it would come sooner and from David! BTW...David....I will not have you making us (more importanly, ME) any older than we are...use your toes and someone else's if counting up the years is a problem.

03/15/09 04:02 PM #2092

Mark Avant (1985)

I think that "crawfish" is what the nerds call them. The cool folks call them
"crawdads".

03/15/09 05:24 PM #2093

Stacy Cunningham (Gilbert) (1989)

Depends I guess....you must call them crawfish too?

03/15/09 06:53 PM #2094

Mark Avant (1985)

See, once a volleyball player, always a volleyball player. I set her up...she spikes it back down my throat.

03/16/09 12:21 AM #2095

Jody Lowery (1986)

the really hip cats call them "dads"

03/16/09 08:29 AM #2096

Justin James (1986)
