RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 02:33 PM Haa! I don't know? Good question. All I know is he's playing Vivaldi's Gloria pretty fast on an organ. When we were practicing he actually paid it faster than we could sing it! So, yeah he's pretty damn good!! WOW! 2010!!! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 02:40 PM It's sprinkling hard here right now! If it was even 10 degrees colder it'd be snowing for sure. Very dark outside and the sky is a solid snow gray color. blah! It makes me want to sit by the fire, eat soup and read all day!!! WOW! 2010!!! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 03:43 PM Well you got some reading to do. A couple of the "guys" that work here want off early so they can go see the new Twilight movie. I promptly confiscated their man cards. They are now offically women. Oops sorry Trina. 2010! RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 03:47 PM There is no way I would pay to see that movie. My daughter has the first movie and I tried to watch it but fell asleep during it. |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 03:49 PM Haa! Maybe they are just trying to stay on the wife's 'good' side by going?? The boys and I watchd G.I. Joe and Star Trek this week. I doubt I could get anyone in my house to go see Twilight or New Moon! Anyone seen 2012 yet? I am not a big 'end of the world' movie person. So, I doubt I'll ever watch it. I've heard it's good though.
Mike- yes it is Washington. again .... blah.... Mark- I do have some reading to do! I have to remember to request the next book before I'm done with this one. That way I have less 'down' time between books. WOW! 2010!!! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 04:20 PM Love the library. FREE books! I actually tried to watch the 1st Twilight. I am a big vampire fan. I also have no real problem with creating new vampire myths, but some vamp truths can't be worked around. Primarily the whole they can't go out in the day thing or they die. I just couldn't hang with the Jupiter sized levels of teen angst. No offense Trina, but the main people that seem to be taken with this series are women a few years on either side of 40 and teen girls. I'm not exactly in the demographic. I re-watched the Trek movie last nite myself. They've reimagined it and I like it. If you haven't, you should give it a chance. I also watched GI Joe, ummm, kinda like the recent Transformers movies, lots of fun but not much on the brains front. 2010! Where's my flying car! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 04:30 PM Yeah, I know I'm in the minority of anti-Twilight reader/watchers. That's ok. I don't mind. I have also never read Harry Potter or seen the movies. It's just not my thang. And I agree with the whole vampire thing... vegeterian vampires???? Really??? Haa I laughed at that a lot! My kids loved G.I. Joe but it was weak on the story line I thought. The bad guy was evil but his voice .... ugh.... was not. It was just annoying and I couldn't wait for him to stop talking. I am really interested in how they will move ST forward now with this new future. I just hope we don't have to wait 5 years for another movie. That would suck. WOW! 2010!!! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 04:34 PM Next Trek comes out in 2011. You talking about the guy that played Dr Who or the guy that played Tommy on 3rd Rock From The Sun? Neither were very scary. I thought the Baroness was quite the foxy evil minx. Too bad she had to be brought back from the dark side. 2010! Where's my flying car! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 04:53 PM Uh, either, both!? I just didn't think the guy or character was scary at all. Weird, twisted and cold. Yeah, that is mostly because of what was written. I just think if your gonna have a bad guy with now mouth or expressions he'd better be dang good. Otherwise, it just falls flat.
Ok... I just had my 6 year old tell me that he was buying me an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas!! I asked why? He said, "Mom! It says it makes baking easier! It would help you out a lot!!" Haaaa, if only.
I didn't know that about ST! YEAH! I hope it's good! WOW! 2010!!! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Friday, November 20, 2009 05:04 PM Twilight? New Moon? I think I'll pass. If I wanted to see the Hogwart's School put on a stage version of Dracula I would consider it, but naaaahhhh...Aint gonna happen. And even if the books were good, I would pass after the way they screwed up Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned...The movies were OK, but left waaaayyy too much out (Not to mention that they completely skipped the best book in the series...epic fail for not making THE VAMPIRE LESTAT) If you are into reading, I highly reccommend reading DRACULA, and SHERLOCK HOLMES VERSUS DRACULA. You'll need to read Dracula first to appreciate SHVD, because its actually written as a parallel adventure and actually crosses through the happenings in Bram Stoker's classic several times - even down to a surprise ending that I found quite excellent. Fred Saberhagens THE HOLMES/DRACULA FILE is another good read, but stretched things a bit for me to give it a full two thumbs rating. Yee haw! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Wednesday, November 25, 2009 12:07 PM Good morning! I don't know if anyone is around today or not. Is everyone traveling for the weekend?? We aren't. Gonna stay home this year. Figure we'll watch some games, watch it rain and then watch the pies disappear!! But in order to do that... I have things to do. Somehow when I was a kid Thanksgiving food just appeared. Now as an adult I realize that I am the one with the wand! haaaa So, I have a few things left to buy at the store. I know that'll be a crazy trip but it has to be done. I would rather go work out but that's not happening today. Ok my friends... Happy Thanksgiving! WOW! 2010!!! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Monday, November 30, 2009 03:43 PM Hey, Mike. As far as I can tell he has not be caught yet. Scary and sad. Although, Lakewood is several hours south of here it is reasonable that he is on the move. I sure hope he doesn't move this way. I do own a gun and I know how to use it. WOW! 2010!!! |

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers Posted Tuesday, December 1, 2009 11:20 AM Yes, they got him. Mark, it's that sorta attitude that makes families want to sue the crap out of the police department. You know I hope I never have to find out but I don't think I could hide my family member if they'd done something like that. It's unimaginable to me. I mean really... "Hey, mom I just killed 4 unarmed cops for no reason except they were cops! Hide me!! Oh, ok baby!! You didn't mean too I'm sure. It's just silly." I'll bet $$ that someone in Seattle either a family member or some hippie down there will say that it was unlawful that the police were gunning for him and wanted to kill him and they will try to sue or do something that is in memory of this 'poor' guy. It's sick.
Ok, I've gotta get. Kids have 'school' today but I'm dragging my feet this morning. We had a 3 hr dress rehearsal last night for our Messiah Concert this weekend. It will be wonderful though. 15 member Orchestra, 80 member choir, and great soloists. It wears me out though. It takes a lot of energy. Later my friends!! WOW! 2010!!! |
