Hey, Mark. Where did everyone go??

Finally! Another page! You know we were on that page from the 14th til today. Sheesh! Congrats Trina! Don't know where everyone else is.                                                                   I haven't read that book, but I have done me some learnin' on the occupation of those islands. Did you know the movie The Others, with Nicole Kidman took place on one of them? I believe the timeline was just after WW2. There was also another movie with David Niven, filmed in the early 50's, about the occurrences on another island. I believe it was called Island Rescue. It may have had another name for it's British release. Don't remember. Those islands had an interesting history, and how they were ruled and were a peripheral part of the UK.

Yes, the setting is 1946 just after the war. I have to say that period of time is always interesting (and sad) to read about.  I haven't watched any of those movies. I am more a book person when it comes to historical type stuff. I have never seen the movie The Titanic and I was forced to watch Pearl Harbor.  I just don't like those types of movies.  I'll stick to Vacation and Fletch for my movie watching. :)

Have you read Vince Flynn's Pursuit of Honor? That's next on my list to read. I also love CIA style books.

Well, I wouldn't say the Others is very historical. Just uses that time frame and locale as a setting. Good ghost story though. You should check it out. Titanic wasn't bad until the very end. Ruined it. Pearl Harbor, anytime Bruckheimer gets his slimy paws on something, he ruins it. To me the end all be all WW2 movie/show whatever is the mini series Band of Brothers. You should give it a chance if you haven't yet. Top flight movie making.

I haven't read his last book, but I have read a couple of the other ones, Transfer of Power and Executive Power. Kinda skipping around, but our library is kinda weird in it's book selection. And since Jaime no longer works for Barnes and Noble I don't get books new anymore. Every now and then I'll go to the used book store, but their selection is always hit and miss.

So sad that you guys can't keep this thing moving any better than this.  We were tearing through this while I was alive.

I am in training today and it doesn't start until 9:00, so you have be 'til then.

What!! I have to be out of the house today in less than hr! I got the kids in the Lynden Academy and today is the first day. We'll see how it goes. It's just once a week for all of them.

I have been being a model employee!  or trying to be.  Just busy we have a tight deadline to  make the end of the year on this A/C  all my completion dates are hitting at the end of November so im busy as a beaver trying to get stuff ahead!

They told me "We'll see you Tuesday for class." But nooooooo I get there today and it's conferences!!! NO CLASSES!!!!!  I was not happy.  

The kids were very happy but that sucks!!! Up early out early.... nevermind!

The kids did get a tour of the school and get to meet their teachers. They liked that.

Not gonna make it for Thanksgiving. Trying to decide if I can make a banzai run for Christmas and then come back after the 1st of the year for a longer stay or just wait til the 1st rolls around. I haven't been home for a while and mom's considering having me disowned. Either way I plan on making time to see you when I'm there.
