Morning all...I thought Id drop in and say howdy.  I gotta big day today so I wont be back befoer tomorrow morning - maybe even later this week.  We moved into a rent trailer yesterday so I am no longer "homeless" and hopefully we will have utilities on in the next day or so and can actually start living there LOL

I did learn some interesting rumors about my former employer though.  Apparently there was a serious lack of security in the building after I left (big surprise) and as a result someone has tragically lost their life.  The motel basically reverted to its crackhouse status and there was a murder there.  There have also been several drug and prostitution busts there in the last six weeks and now according to my sources, the city is going to close it down permanately.  If what I was told is true, the only person who will be coming up smelling like roses from this fiasco is ME!  Everyone who acted against me has been fired or lost massive amounts of money on their investments.  I am saddened though someone had to die in order for me to be proven right.

Yee haw!

Good morning!

Mark, I'm picking up the first book today from KJA-Saga of the Seven Suns. I'll keep you posted.

David... I gave up on no sugar... screw it! haaaa

Week 2 of the boys going to the new school. We'll see how today goes. They seemed to enjoy last week. Levi said he was bored some. So, he might need a  different class. But it's only once a week he'll survive!

Ok. Have a good day! I'll try to pop in later on.

David! Your online at work!!! WOW!! Maybe they saw how sad our little forum was without you!! haa

I'll try to be on some tomorrow but I have another busy day planned. Sigh. I need an assistant mom so I can send her to do all my errands! haaa

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers

Good morning!

Hope everyone is doing well this morning. I'm just sitting here watching the wind blow hard! We apparently have a wind storm and and some rain coming our way for the next couple days.  These are cool until the ground is too wet and the wind blows over trees... then not so much.   But for November it is very warm out... 61! wow!

One of our middle schools is burning right now.  It was 106 years old and some of the folks on my friends list are freaking out.  I'm already tired of hearing about it! haa I'm just glad I don't live in B'ham anymore.. taxes are going up again.   Not like that's not news around here.

Hey Mike. Hey Trina. I like windy days. Our house is where two mountain gaps come together so we get some serious wind whenever fronts come thru. Helps keep the leaves off the yard though.

RE: Afternoon Croakers & Midnight Tokers

Haa! I never rake leaves! I find it rather pointless. My older neighbors however rake what seems to be everyday.  They just spent Sunday raking, mowing, and edging their yard and now it's just covered in leaves again.  Of course, they mow year round.  I guess they have nothing better to do.

About the only thing I'll clean up leaves for is the front door and back door. Hubby will clean the gutters. That's about it. If the kids are 'bored' then I'll have them rake leaves and we'll burn them. Keeps them busy especially on a windy day!!  LOL

We had a neighbor in Sheridan, lived around the block. He swept the gravel off the street in front of his house!  <----------------((((( Talk about your waste of time.

I have a leaf blower, I use it to dry my car off when I wash it. Jaime seems to think it's a waste of money. I say I have no water spots. Worth every $$$

Hi Ya'll!

Just popping in to say hi...whilst on HOLD with the *&^*&@$&^%$@#&^%@(*$&^ insurance company!  Ugh!  Marleigh and I were in a wreck on Monday and the guy who was driving the car who hit us, and ran the stop sign, was driving someone else's car.  IN LOUISIANA (this is what I get for living here!) the "primary insurance" - i.e. driver's insurance is billed first and then the "secondary insurance" will pick up what's left....sooooo that leaves me waiting for the two insurance companies to hash out the details.....WITHOUT A RENTAL CAR.  And yes, I know I can get one through my insurance company but  any claim filed can "potentially" raise your rates.  aka fine print.

UGH! But, on the bright side...Marleigh checked out okay at the Dr. this morning and I...well....haven't been but I've never been quite right so.....there really is not point in going! (There, I said it before Mark could...or David....BTW...Welcome back for a day David...I'm guessing you got busted?)

I think our moms' are out of their GOURDS!

Well that'd be a different kind of doc you needed to see. Do you remember Mr Zimmerman and how he swept the street in front of his house. He lived across from the Lowery's.

I hate, no loathe insurance companies. And don't even get me started on workman's comp insurance. I've never seen such crappy treatment of people.

Good morning!

Happy Friday!! Woo Hoo!!

We survived the wind storm last night. Had gusts up to 60mph!! Saw lots of small branches and twigs flying through the air. Lights flickered on and off but that's about it.

Stacy, so glad that Marleigh checked out ok!! Car wrecks are so scary!!

Ok, we have co-op today. Off to learn something fun!! Then to Costco and Wally World. OH the joys!

Stacy...you should be able to get the rental car without affecting your rates any more than the accident claim itself will...If you wait until the claim is settled then the rental car will probably denied as it is not considered necessary at that point...Trust me on this, I worked as an insurance agent for almost six years before I decided it was time to quit or shoot someone...I decided to quit BTW and you cant prove otherwise...But seriously, now is the time to demand they give what you need...Adjusters will try and confuse you with legalized jargon and general BS, but if you stand your ground they will eventually cave in and give you the service you are PAYING THEM FOR...Don't let them bully you or scare you away from using your insurance...YOU are the one paying THEM for their services, they have a fiduciary responsibility to serve you in this instance.

(Remember the words Fiduciary Responsibility...If you use that in your conversation it will shake them up...It makes them think you know what you are talking about.)

A thousand apologies.  Been out of the loop big-time!  Glad to see you guys carrying on.  And, ummmmmm, Mark?  That pic looks exactly like Shane Wilcox (c/o 89).  Anyone else notice that?

Also, how the heck did y'all get those fancy-schmancy little automatic quotes at the bottom of all your posts?  Jeez...I feel like a newbie!

It's not a very silly walk, is it?

Shane Wilcox doesn't ring a bell. It's Nathan Fillion, he's an actor. He's in a show called Castle now. Probably more famous for being in a sci fi show called Firefly. We change the quote below the post and the address depending on the subject of the day.

Hey Mark and Vicki.  How are things going.  Mark did you decided on your Thanksgiving plans yet?  David and I worked out last night and we were talking about us all getting together when you and Justin come in for the holidays.  Maybe we can all go out for dinner or just drinks.

Good morning Jacket House peeps!  Hope everyone is doing well.

Just a quick note to say today I will be taking my boys to see a real Hero. One that was killed last week in Afghanistan. Aaron Aamot was 22 years old and his body will be home today. People are going out to show support for his family as they drive through town.

WOW! 2010!!!

With all of the talk about how low and weak the young of our country have become we have this spendid example of how many have not. You don't say which branch he served in, but I read a few quotes about the USMC the other day that may be apt:
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." GEORGE ORWELL

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem."
PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN, 1985

I think you could substitute any of the services.

Here is the news story of yesterday's motorcade. We arrived about 2:45. There was already a large crowd. It was after 3:30 when it started. helicopters, police cars racing by... lights flashing. It was beautiful and sad all at the same time. People of all ages. Men and women dressed in their uniforms along the road. Boy scouts standing tall holding their flags. It was an impressive sight. I could hear many people talking to their kids about what was going on and why it was important. Honor and respect are taught and even if these kids don't fully understand what yesterday was all about someday they will and they will remember. RIP Aaron Aamot.

I know it's pretty dead in here.

My choir did it's first concert last night. It went pretty well. Peter Wildeman is a fanstatic organist! Man, that guy can play. www.peterwildeman.nl

Someone took some video of the first song we did. It's a little shaky but you get the idea. I'm on the third row... 2nd from the end on the right side.

We have 2 more concerts to go in December. Those will be all Handel's Messiah with an orchestra. Should be good.

We've had wind storms here all week. We had part of a tree drop in our front yard. A small one but still. Branches are snapping off everywhere. Luckily, it's not cold enough for snow!
