I like what you've done with the homepage. Trina, I'm tellin' ya, get a Bedazzler! That would def be a hit! Justin, theres been all sorts of stories around all of those rock star deaths. I like the story they tell in Spinal Tap about the drummer choking on vomit. Only it was someone else's. David I did see Adventureland. It was a different kind of movie but I still liked it. More of a date type movie. I did however like I Love You Man better. More of my TYPE of movie. I liked the whole Rush thread too. Most of the female persuasion don't get Rush. Just so happens Jaime likes them. That's how I knew she'd be the one for me. She also likes Iron Maiden. Trina I get why you prolly don't like JH. I like what his influence on modern guitar wrought more so than his music per se. (does that sound all Lester Bangs snobby or what?)

What are everyone's plans for the weekend?  Mowing and drinking as per usual?  I odn't have anything going this weekend, but next weekend is anniversary #16.  GOT to find something good for that.

Slappin da bee ace mahn.   Why do I always sound like a leprechaun?                                                                                                                                                   No big plans. Gotta fix the dog run. We had a pretty good wind storm here this week, we had 60 mph straight line winds, and the run was blown up against the house and it bent a crimp in one of the sides. So gotta cut out the bad and patch in some good. Other than that, not much. They have started the apple harvest out here too. We may hit a few orchards on Sunday. Jaime is an apple cider junkie. I don't get it myself, but I do like me some apples. Where is Mike? Maybe his hand injury got so bad he couldn't type.

I can take or leave apples.  Mark is alcoholic cider big out there?

It won't be long and the pumpkin patch migrations will start here.

No big plans here.  Just working around the house. Might go to a corn maze might not. We'll see how things work out.  I really need to go through the kids drawers and clean out clothes and shoes. It just gets overwhelming but it needs to be done.

I like Rush, Iron Madien and LK but I find it's just certain songs not all of them.

Love apples! Of course, we're in apple country here.  I've been slicing and dicing apples for the freezer for winter. Well before I left for AR.  Pumpkin patch season is just around the corner.  I'm not into apple cider but I agree with Justin bring on the apple pie, caramel apples... I love summer but fall is a close 2nd!

WOW! 2010!!!

I would have to give Fall the #1 slot followed by summer.

Yeah, I could see apple season for you and Mark at the same time.  Y'all are latitudinally similar.

Who's LK , Larry King? EVERYTHING alcoholic is big out here. Big wine industry. Tons of microbrewery. StarrHill brewery just went national with Anheiser Busch. The run is basically just 4 chain link segments 10 feet each segment. I'm just gonna cut the bent section and replace it with exhaust pipe cut to fit and use exhaust pipe clamps to sinch everything up. Shouldn't take too long. I like spring best. The days start getting longer. The shorter days are the only thing I don't like about fall. Justin, I've got tons of thing I've procrastinated off. I, like you, wait until she's complained just enough, then fix whatever it is. The dog run is something we use everyday though. Her bathroom is something that's becoming something of a sore point though. I started painting it and didn't finish. Well now here it is 2 months later and I think I'm running out of time on it. The only thing I dislike more than painting is weedwhacking.

I wouldn't think the dog run would have caught enough wind to get damaged.  That's why I asked what it was made of.

I have a buddy that works out all the time and he won't drink beer.  Just Cider.  Hornsby's I think.  We had some of it in the Bahamas 16 years ago too.  I think I remember it being warm.

The run has a tarp over it that's attached with bungees and zip ties. That's what the wind caught.

Uh oh, look what I've done. I've gone and picked up another stray. My wife may be P.O.'d. Hard deal to resist though.

Well, hopefully in the not too distant future it'll be less mullet and more Darth Vader, like this one:

I love the flat black on this thing, it just looks sinister. I've never had just an out and out badazz car. This may be the one. Oh and that big tree next to the driveway is going the way of the dodo this weekend too. Of course I'll be moving the car.

Dude, those pics do not do justice as to the craptastic shape this car is in. Car? Did I say car? I meant gazebo. If you open the trunk and look at the trunk pan, you can see your feet, no exaggeration. I've really got my work cut out for me and my checkbook.   Maybe Overhaulin' will come pay a visit to the east coast.

You will have to come up with some sort of sob story about how you drove one like that in HS that your dad left you on his death bed and you finally found this one, but don't have the money to fix it up.

We had a 68 Ford Falcon several years ago but we were never able to spare the $$ to fix it up. Hopefully the kid we sold it too did something with it.  I was a little sad about it but it's how things go sometimes.  The choice between a fun car or food and clothes for the kids... hmmmm can I think about it first??

It has a 307. That took over as the base V-8 from the 283 in 70 I think it was. It also has manual brakes. Been a LOOOONG time since I've driven anything without power brakes. Almost didn't get it stopped at the 1st stop sign I came to. So to answer your question, yes it does. The guy I got it from was actually driving it to work every day.

Well we are almost settled into the camper (I am so thankful for Katie Fowler and her husband for the offer!) and I'll be ready to start the job search Monday. It looks as if my friend Jake (anyone remember Jake Perritt?) is pulling some strings to help me get hired at the prison at Wrightsville.  I did that for several years when my kids were younger, so I know I can handle the job.   If that comes through we'll be house hunting in East End and start rebuilding our lives once again.

Yee haw!

Good luck Andy. I know David is right about the camper situation. A 307 with the smallest 2 barrell carb you've ever seen. Hope everyone had a good weekend. All I did was cut the grass and start on tearing the Chevelle down. Got most of it done. I'll get some pictures so's you can see my progress.

Sounds like a good project to follow on here.  You could teach us like shop class.  Each project from a to z.

2 barrell?  You better leave it alone.  It might get good mileage. haha!

We mowed and I got some electrical work done at Mom's house that she's been wanting. Went out to see the Hogs lose after scoring 41 points.  DANGIT!  We usually have a good defense and a weak offense.  Now it's the other way around.

I guess it's sadly business as usual for SHS.

Hogs are gonna have to bow up and do something on D.  They should have the talent there.  The D line averages over 300lb and the cornerbacks are supposed to be much improved.  There is talk that the new Special teams guy might take over next year if it doesn't get better this year.  I say don't wait all year to do it.

Well as with most authors that have had their books turned into movies. You can't really compare the movies to the books. However, The Stand, being a mini series and therefore much longer than most movies wasn't bad at all. I have a 3 way tie for my favorite Stephen King books turned into movies. Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.
