She didnt fall for it.

Petit Jean would be fun. I have never stayed there but I hear the Tanyard Spring cabins are nice.

Mt. Magazine has a nice new lodge, but fairly expensive and probably booked up. Most cabins are going to be booked up this weekend.

Our 17th is next month. We haven't done anything other than dinner for a few years so we're bracketing the weekend with days off and going over to Cape Charles on Virgina's eastern shore. We've got a B&B room reserved and gonna eat great seafood all weekend. Our favorite seafood restaurant/truck stop Stingray's will be sick of us by the time we're thru.  Prolly even go by a Sonic  drive in. (we don't have them here). The only problem with not using credit cards anymore is you have to use a check card to reserve a room and I can't keep that secret cause you have to do it so early to guarantee a room. So no big suprise for Jaime. Hope everyone has a good night.

It's just not cold enough for that.  I will have to think harder.  Too cold to go to the lake to hot to rent a cabin.  hmmmm? What to do, what to do.  Maybe I should ask Justin.

Ok. I'm outta here. Heading to my girlfriends farm to 'play' with apples.  Apparently, after I said yes she meant work with apples!! Peel, smash, eat, pie 'em... you know... but butter, cinnamon and a glass a wine will make it all easier to do!!

Later taters!!Bye everyone!

You could use a prepaid card if you had a way to set the money aside without her knowing

David I'm all for the kegger!  Old school style.    My advice too you is to hire Mike as your events planner!  sounds like he is in touch with his feminine side on the planning of events!

I am a big blackjack fan.  I have read books on it and for a time could pretty well count my way through a shoe with that point system.  I was never confident enough to bet big, because I couldn't afford it, but usually could walk away with $500-$600 bucks in my pocket.

After talking about DB and WA yesterday, how about favorite child actors today?  It's a tough decision, but I really liked the show Wonder Years.

  1. Well, I'd learned one thing in advanced math class. I'd learned I was going to fail. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow - but soon, and for the rest of my life.
  2. Like women all over America, my mother confronted tragedy and death with cold ham and Jello salad.
  3. When my father had a bad day at work, he'd just sit in the dark by himself and watch TV. We learned early on that this was a danger signal and we adapted our behavior accordingly.
  4. In 7th grade, who you are is what other 7th graders say you are. The funny thing is it’s hard to remember the names of kids you spent so much time trying to impress.
  5. The transition from summer to fall is a tricky one. Like astronauts returning from space. We had to re-enter the atmosphere of school carefully, so the sudden change in pressure wouldn't kill us.
  6. It's a tough time in life, when you are struggling for manhood, and your mother out-weighs you by 50 pounds.
  7. Thirteen is a crazy age. You're too young to vote, and too old not to be in love. You live in a house someone else owns...But your dreams are already somewhere else. You face the future armed with nothing but the money you've earned from mowing lawns, and a nine-dollar ring with a purple stone. And you hope against hope...that'll be enough.
  8. The thing is, we didn't have to hate each other for getting older. We just had to forgive ourselves for growing up.
  9. Ninth grade man. Noble, upright, virtuous. I went into my last year of Junior High thinking I knew all the answers. And suddenly all I had was questions. Plus a dislocated thumb.
  10.  I grew up in a neighborhood that was a lot like other neighborhoods. Where the boxes we lived in were distinguished only by the names on the mailboxes, and the cars in the driveways. It was a place where hard-working Americans circled their wagons to protect themselves from the outside world. Our lives were made up of little moments, all delicately intertwined.
  11. Like some kind of biblical curse, the SATs had descended on our class, reducing even the most intelligent among us to a state of flop sweats.

Awesome tv show, I'll just assume we don't have to stick to TV. Think I'll stick with Stephen King and do my favorite movie about kids and coming of age- Stand By Me. Tons of great meaning of life quotes:

Alright, alright, Mickey's a mouse, Donald's a duck, Pluto's a dog. What's Goofy?

Does the word "retarded" mean anything to you?

Suck my fat one, you cheap dime store hood

Okay. Then you won't mind if we check the seat of your jockies for Hershey squirts, will you?

What the audience didn't know was that Larda@# wasn't really interested in winning. What he wanted was revenge, and right before he was introduced he'd gotten ready for it.

Slowly, a sound started to build in Larda@#' stomach. A strange and scary sound, like a log truck coming at you at a hundred miles-an-hour. Suddenly, Larda@# opened his mouth, and before Bill Travis knew it...

... he was covered with five pies worth of used blueberries. The women in the audience screamed. Bossman Bob Cormier took one look at Bill Travis and barfed on Principal Wiggins, who barfed on the lumberjack that was sitting next to him. Mayor Grundy barfed on his wife's t#ts. But when the smell hit the crowd, that's when Larda@#' plan really started to work. Girlfriends barfed on boyfriends. Kids barfed on their parents. A fat lady barfed in her purse. The Donnelley twins barfed on each other, and the Women's Auxiliary barfed all over the Benevolent Order of Antelopes. And Larda@# just sat back and enjoyed what he'd created-a complete and total barf-o-rama!

(older Gordie) It happens sometimes. Friends come in and out of our lives, like busboys in a restaurant.

(older Gordie) Now he said, "Sic'em, boy!" But what I heard was, "Chopper! Sic balls!"

(older Gordie) I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

(older Gordie) I was 12 going on 13 the first time I saw a dead human being. It happened in the summer of 1959-a long time ago, but only if you measure in terms of years. I was living in a small town in Oregon called Castle Rock. There were only twelve hundred and eighty-one people. But to me, it was the whole world.

(older Gordie) The train had knocked Ray Brower out of his Keds the same way it had knocked the life out of his body.

(older Gordie) At the beginning of the school year, Vern had buried a quart jar of pennies underneath his house. He drew a treasure map so he could find them again. A week later, his mom cleaned out his room and threw away the map. Vern had been trying to find those pennies for nine months. Nine months, man. You didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
