My New Years Resolution is to start smoking, pack on about another 40lbs, and go broke.

I get tired of making New Years resolutions that I can't keep! This year's gonna be different! hahaha!!!

heh heh... I think you are on to something.

On a completely out of field and self-serving topic...

you guys want to hear my band?

of course you do (silly question)

lucky for you, my singer has a habit of making odd and poorly conceived videos of our songs and sticking them on youtube. That is his face you will be staring at for three and a half minutes.

Trivia... on this particular song.. though I do the backups live when we (rarely) play this one live... the backups you hear here are the bass player for the band "Toad the Wet Sprocket" (Remember them? "All I want".. "Walk on the Ocean"?), Dean Dinning. We sent the raw tracks to him in California and he recorded the backups in his bathroom and sent them back and we put them in the mix.

We have two guitarists.. the first half of the solo is me if you are given to wonder about such things...

This song was odd for us because the night we started it I told my bass player "lets switch... you write a chord progression and I will come up with a bass line to go with it"

I totally cheated... my bass line is "C'mon... Eileen... tuhlooorayyaaay" from "Come on Eileen" by Dexys Midnight Runners... but I wont tell anyone if you dont.

Missy Ketchum (Warren) (1989)

Tracy, Jody says he will dress up like Ricky Bobby for you ANYTIME!!!! LOL!

Tracy Epperson (Kaufman) (1989)

David- that would SO do it for me- but you'd hafta do the jumpsuit and promise that if I get you liquored up enough you'll strip down to tighty whiteys and run outside screaming "i'm on fire!"... there's a shot (or two) of crown in it for ya! And I don't think we're all cougars... I'm not sure I really even qualify (anymore). My bf is only 6 years younger than me. It's just that the guys my age can't hang, lol

Missy- tell Jody I have other costume ideas in mind for him! ;-)

Steve: great song, and the video ain't so bad... it's kind of edgy and new agey... in a pulp fiction sorta way

ok, so you guys are gonna come hang out with me friday, right? I'm not gonna be sitting all pitiful and alone at the flying saucer am I? Wonderbread jumpsuits are optional...

01/05/09 09:42 AM #411

Richard Wade (1989)

I'm not sure I could fit in a wonder bread suit!! Maybe a wonder bread truck!! But I'm in on Friday!! So its the Saucer at 7:00?? I'm going to try to be sober when I get there this time!!! Steve if you read this you need to show up too! I love celebrities showing up!!! We need to talk about making that video!!! I have millions of ideas running through my head as that is one of my favorite songs!!!

01/05/09 09:47 AM #412

David Fort (1989)

Damn, is that THIS Friday??? Time sure flies when you're asleep at the wheel! I will get on scheduling to make sure I can be there. I won't be able to get my Ricky Bobby jumpsuit together that quickly though. I guess it'll just be the "tighty whities" and a Racing Helmet. (although Ricky's whities weren't too tighty in the movie. hahaha) Hope we have another good turnout.

Hey Steve bring your "axe" and if we run out of beer money, you could do some street performing and get us some extra cash. Maybe we can get some old lady to wear a sombrero and dance around to the music. LMAO!!!

They could have used that video in the 70's for another popular song. I can't quite put my finger on the name of it though ;) haha!

I hate having Mondays and Tuesdays off. You guys have fun.

Steve Warmack (1987)

When my buddy Pat was booking for the Flying Saucer we used to play there a lot. We played two Halloween shows and two New Years shows in two consecutive years... those were great shows... now you have to catch us at Midtown Billiards at 2:00 in the morning to see us in high energy mode...

I miss playing at the Saucer... *sigh*

Steve Warmack (1987)

I might show up, Richard.

"Happening Guy" is about Jack the Ripper, you know...

"Its night.. the site... is in a chapel white"

(the whitechapel murders... get it?)

actually it is about a guy who is so bad at coming on to women he inadvertantly makes himself look like a serial killer every time he tries and he is blissfully unaware that he is doing so... In other words... it is about me.

01/06/09 02:21 AM #418

Richard Wade (1989)

ok let's get a head count or a maybe for everyone going to the Saucer Friday night!!

01/06/09 07:15 AM #419

Steve Warmack (1987)

Maybe.

I SHOULD make myself get off the couch for any reason... just to keep myself from turning into a potato.

But I have rearely done what I should.

01/06/09 11:29 AM #420

David Fort (1989)

I am also a maybe. But likely! To steal a line that Missy uses on EVERY message...MUAH!!!

(sorry Missy, it had to be done ;}

01/06/09 11:57 AM #421

Tracy Epperson (Kaufman) (1989)

Well I'm in of course. And Curtis and Jim are also maybes. Geez, I thought I was bad with decisions! Ya buncha commitmentphobes! lol
Just to warn you guys- if richard and I are the only ones there, we will SO be planning dastardly things to do to you guys in the near future....
Ok, well, I'll probably just be getting hammered on hard ale and picturing David running down the street in saggy underwear, and richard will probably be wasted on some heavy german beer, planning every aspect of his new video project starring himself as the "Happening Guy". Nobody loan him any scalpels ok?

01/06/09 01:31 PM #422

David Fort (1989)

David Fort (1989)

01/06/09 05:38 PM #425

Jamie Gartman (1989)

Thank you, Dick Wade. I AM almost 50. But, I look damn good for my age. I could easily pass for 37 1/2.

Even still, I'm not quite ready for this...

01/07/09 10:28 AM #426

Tracy Epperson (Kaufman) (1989)

01/07/09 10:29 AM #427

Richard Wade (1989)

01/07/09 02:47 PM #428

David Fort (1989)

Now I have to dial in at home to see the vid. If it is ban worthy, I must see it. Plus it made Tracy gag. (make up your own jokes here) LOL!!!

Sadly I must bow out this weekend. We are going out of town Friday after work. Y'all try to stay out of Jail. (that is aimed at you RW)
