Benjamin Atkins

1973-1995

Former Sheridan resident Benjamin C. Atkins, 22, died Aug 30th in an automobile accident north of Laramie.  He was born June 21, 1973 in Jackson to Gary and Patti Atkins.  His family moved to Sheridan when was a young boy.  He attended schools in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1991.  He played on two state championship football teams and was on the honor roll. 

He worked for Norenstam Nursery for several years and at the Ski Shop at the Ritz Sporting Goods.  He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheridan, and of the Antelope Butte Ski Patrol.  In Laramie he worked for a roofing company.

He enjoyed skiing and football.  He is survived by his parents of Sheridan; two brothers, Andrew Atkins of Arizona, and Daniel Atkins of Sheridan; and a grandmother, Esther Atkins of Hatfield, Penn.

Services will be at 2pm Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ronald Nelson officiating.  Burial will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.  Memorials  may benefit Trinity Lutheran Church.
