Brian Richard Anderberg was born to Rick and Sue Anderberg on April 17, 1972 in Mountain View, Calif. He grew up in Sheridan, Wyo., after his parents retired from the Navy. He first attended Sheridan Community College in the early 1990s, where he learned welding, before dedicating his life to full-time ministry. He graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where he studied pastoral and youth ministry, and met the love of his life, Tonya Pridgeon.

Brian and Tonya were married June 19, 1998, in Gillette, Wyo. After graduation, they began ministry in South Dakota and Wyoming before settling in Mitchell.

He served on the pastoral staff at Mitchell Wesleyan for several years, was assistant girls’ basketball coach at Mitchell Christian, worked at Trail King and Vantage Point, and most recently was the associate director of young adult ministry at Dakota Wesleyan University.

He loved his family, his friends, and most of all, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through his illness, he never wavered in his trust that everything was in God’s hands.

Outgoing, funny, smart, compassionate and passionate about his faith in Jesus, Brian touched many lives through his ministries. He was a talented musician, speaker and writer, and fearless teacher of the gospel. He loved movies, poetry, making music, traveling, Star Wars, making people laugh and, as he once said, “shooting guns of all sizes.”

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ed and Barbara Lilja; paternal grandparents, Bill and Viola Anderberg; and granddad, Don Pridgeon.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tonya, and their two sons, Nathanael and Nahum; parents Rick and Sue Anderberg and Herb and Elsie Pridgeon; a sister, Tracie Anderberg-Collins, and her three children, Jonah, Sydney, and Jordan; a brother, Johnny Burch and his two children, Taylor and Kenzie; grandma, Gladys Pridgeon; brother and sister, Paul and Chrissy Bickett and their three children, Elsa, Emma, and Kenneth; and numerous other family members, honorary children and the countless lives he touched while here on earth.
