I've known of Woody's passing for a while. I met him at the SHS softball field, the field directly west of the "North Gym". It was the summer of 8th grade. We remained friends all through high school and enjoyed numerous canoe trips on the Wisconsin, Wolf and Flambeau Rivers. Many knew him as a tough guy but he had a big heart and a great sense of humor. I believe it was the 35th reunion where we talked for a long while and gave each other a big hug when the evening ended. It's always sad to see old friends go.
Dallas, you are correct, Woody came off as a tough guy but underneath he a good person. Not many people realized that! I never say him again once we graduated but aas you mentioned as the 35th I remember seeing and speaking with him. Godspeed Woody!
