Sidney - Donald H. Henderson, 18, lost a three-year battle with leukemia Friday evening, December 29, at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
One of Sidney's most prominent high school athletes during the past three years, he had won numerous trophies and awards. Popular with all who knew him, he was crowned King at the Senior Ball in December 1966. He graduated from Sidney Senior High School last June and began his freshman year in September at State University College at Cobleskill.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Congregational Church in Sidney. The pastor, Rev. Wallace Cedarleaf officiated. Burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
Donald was born in Binghamton on February 3, 1949, son of Harry and Alice (Mulcahy) Henderson. He had lived in Sidney for 10 years.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Ralph Maddalo of Star Route, Sidney, two brothers, his twin, Ronald G., and Gary J,. of Sidney; two sisters Miss Myrna Henderson and Miss Sharon Henderson, of Sidney, maternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs John Mulcahy of Windsor, and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Eva Henderson of Binhgamton.
