
SIDNEY - Brenda L. DeMatteo, 53 of Sidney passed away after a courageous battle on Thursday, May 14, 2003, in The Hospital in Sidney.
She was born Aug. 30, 1949 daughter of Victor and Flossi (Fisk) Miller in Sidney.
Brenda graduated from Sidney High School and was employed as a Certified Nurses Aid for The Hospital in Sidney and later was a home health aid for the local area prior to becoming a homemaker.
She married John DeMatteo on May 12, 1973, in Sidney.
Brenda loved to garden and was gifted at refinishing furniture and antiques.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 30 years, John Dematteo, Sidney; her parents, Victor and Flossi Miller, Sidney, son, Matthew DeMatteo. Groton; daugher, Johanna DeMatteo, Sidney; two granddaughters, Leah and Emma DeMatteo, Groton' two sisters and brothers-in-law, Vickie and David Kulze, Sidney, and Cheryl and David Sofra, Raleigh, NC; partents-in-law, Emilio (Chief) and Theresa DeMatteo, Bainbridge; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by a son, Brent L. DeMatteo.
Upon Brenda's request, services are private and at the convenience of the family/.
Memorial contributions amy be made in Brenda's name to the Sidney Emergency Squead.

Brenda and I used to camp out in her grandpas ice fishing shack in her grandmas back yard on Avert Street. What fun drinking coffee , and going thru the cemetery o Halloween night to listen to Mary Wrights tomb " to see if we could hear her rocking in her rockin chair"
