SIDNEY - Duane R. Waldron, 17-year-old Sidney High School student, died suddenly at his home at Unadilla RD 2 on Saturday morning, May 14, 1966.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at C. H. Landers Chapel, Sidney. Rev. Harry A. Ross, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sidney, officiated. Burial was at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
Duane was born in Sidney on February 1. 1949. a son of Clifford R. and Wanda (Walker) Waldron.
Duane had never fully recovered from a car wreck nine months ago in which he was critically injured. Students and friends from both Sidney and Unadilla schools were released from classes to attend the funeral.
A lifetime resident of this area, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sidney.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford R. Waldron of RD 2 Unadilla; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne Crnadall of Oneonta, and Mrs. Ray Lewellyn of Kenosha, Wisconsin; paternal grandfather, Claude F. Waldron, Sr., of Southwick, Mass; paternal grandmother, Mrs, John Lee of Star Route, Sidney; maternal grandmother, Mrs Beatrice Walker of Unadilla RD 2.
