Michael James Phlipot, 68, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 6:29 AM at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Troy.

He was born on May 8, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Beverly (Bretscher) McClain of Sidney and the late Nicholas Phlipot.

Mike is survived by his four children, Jim Phlipot, Leslie Phlipot, Sarah (Chris) Macke—all of Sidney—and Sonya (Cory) Ahlersmeyer of Greenfield, Indiana, three grandchildren: Oliver and Madelyn Macke, and Lydia Ahlersmeyer. He is also survived by his sister, Jacqueline (Fred) Vanallen of Cincinnati, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andy and Tim Phlipot.

A 1975 graduate of Sidney High School, Mike went on to become the owner and operator of Eagle City Carriers, a local trucking company. Outside of work, Mike found joy in woodworking and classic cars.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Pearl Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Mitchell officiating. Following the Graveside Service, a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Sidney American Legion Post 217 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
