Thomas "Tommy" A. Schroer, 58, 1300 S. Main Ave., Sidney, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at his residence.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1957, in Tokyo, Japan, the son of Carolyn P. (Spangler) Grossman and husband, Tom, of Sidney, and the late Donald C. Schroer.

He is survived by one daughter, Avery Schroer, of Columbus; three brothers, Larry (Lisa) Schroer, of Sidney, Mark Schroer, of Sidney, and Steven Schroer, of Dayton; and one sister, Kathy Lambert, of Sidney.

Mr. Schroer served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1979. He was employed at Electro Controls in Sidney.

Tommy loved being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time by the river.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at 4 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
