

Ron, 55, 127 W. Parkwood St., Sidney, died at 4:08 a.m., at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
He was a son to John E. and Doris (Meeker) Bickel Sr.
Surviving are a daughter, Regina (Ricky) Elson, Houston; a brother, Doug Elsner, Sidney; four sisters: Cindy (Craig) Clayton, Sidney, Sue (Tim) Hobgood and Pam (Barry) Arehar, both Xenia, Sharon (Mike) Wess, Winter Springs, FL; and six grandchildren; John Bickel, Allen Daniels, Jadelyn Lorton, Indika Lorton, Andrew Elson and Issac Elson, all Houston.
Deceased is a brother, Mike Nichols.
He was an avid stamp collector and a member of a local stamp club, a member of the Jaycee's, he loved to ride his bicycle, play bingo and spent his summers at the local ball fields watching his grandchildren play softball. He was an umpire and coach for the IUTIS softball league and he announced softball games at Custenborder Field during the summer. He occasionally called bingo at the Clancy's Resturant and volunteeded as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. He was a member of the Sidney Apostolic Temple.
