This tribute is from Keith Rocci:
When I did not make the basketball team my sophomore year, Don Harris my counselor would shot with me in the gym at whenever the team was away. He told me I could make the team as a junior, and I did.
He taught me about staying strong and being resilient even when life throws you obstacles. He was a great counselor, and the head coach of the two time state champs Buena HS Colts of the late 60s early 70s.
Few people know that he was an all-star basketball player in college. I think he played at East Carolina State University, but I can't remember. He told me all his college stories and helped me develop a love for the game, which I still play three times each. (I took the picture below, and I remember how he would always give me hard time about having my camera on me at all times.)
