On April 10, 2015, at New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, NC with his parents by his side. Jay, 56, was born in Washington, DC and lived his early years in Silver Spring, MD. He most recently lived in Carolina Beach, NC near the ocean he loved so much. He was the beloved son of Harriet and Stanley Garfinkle of Silver Spring, MD, brother of Beth Stein and uncle of nieces, Shelby and Mallory Stein. He leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Jay was an avid fisherman, a wonderful cook, was blessed with an enormous personality and a huge heart for others.
