In Memoriam

Chris Salvatore

(From The Washington Post, June 12, 2008)

Robert "Chris" Salvatore's death shocked the quiet Port Republic neighborhood where he had been staying with his brother. Police said he and Ricky Salvatore had been outside the garage, drinking beer and smoking marijuana cigarettes dipped in PCP. When officers arrived, they found Robert "Chris" Salvatore, 47, dead in a chair, with gunshot wounds to his neck and chest. Ricky Salvatore told them the last thing he remembered was hearing a song about '41 shots' on the radio. Police arrested Ricky Salvatore, 49, and charged him with first- and second-degree murder and first-degree assault. He was ordered held without bail in the Calvert jail.

Chris was my high school sweetheart and friend for many years. He would forgive his brother. It's a very sad story.

Playing football at Springbrook was a highlight of his life.

He left 2 great sons by his ex-wife Patty.

I'll miss him and remember him forever.
