Andrew Tarter Page Jr passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at WakeMed in Raleigh.

He was born on March 18, 1947 in Washington D.C. He grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and went to Blair High School where he was a star football player. After graduating from High School, he married Judy Maloney and had his first daughter Erin Lynn. He attended Montgomery Community College and then went on to University of Maryland where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Business Marketing. After graduation, Andy and Judy parted ways and he began his first job at IBM as a typewriter salesman. At that time Andy reconnected with a college acquaintance Patricia Anne Tillman, and on May 18, 1974 they got married in Towson, Maryland. During his career with IBM Andy and Patsy lived all over the United States. Their first stop was in Austin TX where they had their first child Timothy Christopher, and soon after moved to Albuquerque NM where they had their daughter Susan Mary-Helen.

As his career progressed with IBM, Andy was instrumental in the marketing and advertising efforts of the 5520 Administrative System that revolutionized the enhancement of text processing and electronic document distribution technology. Andy was also a Branch Manager and an Operations Manager for the Americas. After retirement from IBM, Andy served as a consultant with Lenovo. In 1997 Andy made his final move with IBM to Cary, NC where he settled into his retirement years and enjoyed his love for motorcycles and traveling with his close friends and wife through rural America that he loved so much.

A humorous patriarch with a resounding laugh, Andy was also a man of all ages with a story for everything. His love of history and incredible work ethic are just some of the gifts his legacy leaves behind to his children and grandchildren alike and will be missed by all.

He is pre-decreased by his mother and father, Mary Lyles and Andrew Tarter Sr and he is survived by his wife Patsy of 41 years of marriage, his daughter Erin and her husband Tim, his son Chris and his wife Erin, his daughter Susan, and his grandchildren Noah, Logan, Kasey, and Ireland. The light of God shined through him as a loving husband, father, "Great-Dad", and friend to all those who touched his life.
