Matt Lightfoot
Matthew Gordon "Matt" Lightfoot, 18, of Poulsbo died of mitral valve prolapse April 1, 2001, at his home.
He was born Dec. 10, 1982, in Port Washington, Wis., to Gerald and Bonnie Lightfoot. He was a senior at Central Kitsap High School. He had been accepted into the Coast Guard through the delayed entry program. He had planned to enter basic training in July.
He enjoyed sailing and outdoor activities.
He was a member of Liberty Harbor Four Square Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include his parents, Gerald and Julye Lightfoot of Poulsbo, Bonnie and Thomas Spicer of Kittery, Maine, and Diane Yuhas of Silverdale; two brothers, Christopher Ebright of Phoenix and Eric Ebright of Denver; two sisters, Megan Lightfoot and Elizabeth Larsen, both of Poulsbo; and grandparents, Mary Lightfoot of Merced, Calif., Gordon and Dorothy Lightfoot of East Grand Forks, Minn. and Vera Pflieger of Pennsburg, Penn. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Linwood Pflieger.
