Prayers
Posted Sunday, April 26, 2009 12:44 PM

I'm asking for everyone's thoughts and prayers.  I was involved in a very serious auto accident on 4/21.  I was heading south and the other car was heading north.  He was speeding, lost control, over corrected, and plowed into me.  Thank God I was driving a GMC Envoy.  He was driving a chevy aveo.  My SUV was in his passenger side.  Both cars are totaled.  The driver of the car did not have a pulse and has massive head injuries.  He is on life support and not expected to survive.  I have a broken right heel, neck and back pain.  My chest is bruised. from the seatbelt.  It is very painful, and the recovery is going to be long 2-3 months.  My little boy Nathan was in the car, and Thank God is o.k.  He was in his booster seat with seat belt on.  He has been traumatized.  He thought we were going to die.  Please everyone, don't speed and always drive with your seatbelt on.

Katie, take care of yourself.  I am sure glad that you're safe and so is your child.  If this puts the kabosh in your plans for coming back to the reunion we'll all understand.

Get some good R&R and prayers are on their way.

Thanks.  It is going to be a long recovery, but I'm alive and my sweet Nathan was not harmed.  I am already going out of my mind sitting around with my foot elevated.

Katie, So sorry to hear about your accident. Relieved to hear you both will be ok. I am sure it was scary for Nathan but kids are resilent and he will be fine. I hope we still get to see you in July. I will be happy to push you in a wheelchair. Saw your family in church on Easter, everyone looks great. Be good, if not good than have fun.

Katie,

I just read your post. I'm glad that you and your son are both okay. Thank goodness you had your seatbelt on and your son was in a car seat. Rest up and take care of yourself and your son. You will both be in our prayers. Hope you can still make it to the reunion.

Jeff
