New Poll Topics!
Posted Friday, April 17, 2009 02:53 PM

Lee, that's probably the best poll question yet. I have one that I debated Tritz at our 10th reunion. What was our Senior year Homecoming song?   I believe it was Styx "Best of Times" ,but I remember Tritz thought it was something different.  Anybody care to take a stab?  A poll could put the issue to rest if the correct song is one of the choices that is!

Ritch, if I remember correctly, Don't Stop Believing by Journey was our Homecoming theme song.  The reason I remember it was the sub theme was ride that midnight train to victory...from the lyrics of the song.  The entrance to the gym was designed to be the back of a train caboose like what the old time politicians would speak from back in the 1800s and early 1900s.

Prom, on the other hand I'm a bit foggy on...I think it might have been a Phil Collins song but not sure.

Jim,

Ok, since you recall that much detail, my wife may be right, I could quite possibly be losing some of my longterm memory.  Short term is still good up to 10 minutes!

You guys did not play near enough football. How in the hell do you remember that shit.  I just now recalled how I know Jim Tritz.  He is that guy that lives off of the #18 tee box at Two Rivers. I still can not figure out why he is on this forum?  God Bless your memories, God Help Me at the reunion!!

Hell, I couldn't remember half of the teachers that Tritz has included on "your favorite science/religion/fill in the blank" pool.  I'm also embarrassed how many classmates I forgot when this website was originally established.  Never get in an argument with Tritz about something that happened in high school, because he'll win the argument, tell you what you were wearing, and what the temperature was that day.  He'll also tell you which band had the #1 song that week.  Too bad that mind wasn't used for something productive in life.

WTF? Is this pick on Tritz week on the reunion web site?  First Puetz adds a comment to his profile that I singled him out about me driving friends home drunk when I never mentioned any names in that article (of course if I would have it would have been his first and foremost). I'll always remember the day after that article appeared I walked into Sullivans homeroom before school and a bunch of you POS's, lead by Puetz, all threw your car keys on the floor at my feet...even Sullivan threw his and made some comment that he was going out drinking after class and would need a ride home. I never once in that article mentioned about how many times I drove myself home drunk....ugh, how did I ever survive high school.  I sure am glad my kids didn't do stuff like that in high school (as far as I know).

As far as remembering things goes, I OBVIOUSLY paid more attention to my surroundings than you guys did.  Didn't have my nose wedged in books all the time like Puetz.  Didn't think the world revolved around illegal tackles against punt returners like Stabile. Oh I've got stories....unfortunately I'm included in some of them but I've got stories.

Tritz,

How about a new poll questions....what are our classmates feelings towards the new President and his Administration?  I know that you're not supposed to talk politics amongst friends but the results might lead to interesting conversation this summer, "So what do you think of the genius/clown (you pick one) that's in the White House?"

Puetz,

I second that poll question. Here are some multiple choice answers to consider:

What do you think about our new President and his Administration after the first  100 days in office:

a.) I dont mind that Obama is for stem cell research that requires legalized abortion and that "Turbo Tax" Timothy Geithner didnt pay his taxes. I just wanted a change! Go Obama!

b.) I am totally against Obama shaking hands with Chavez and sending a "Dear Buddy" letter to Ahmadinejad and Atty Gen Eric Holder saying that ,"Americans are cowards". I am all for smaller government and people being rewarded for their hard work and not  being over taxed to take care of the unmotivated . I voted for Mc Cain!

c.) I dont really follow politics that closely, but now that I see that Obama seems to be wanting to take from the rich and give to the poor,(that is those that dont want to work) that we might be heading toward a socialist government/society. I wanted a change, but not this kind of change!

Couple of things I learned in the military:

We do not talk politics (Nader in 2012!)

We do not talk religion (recent convert to Karbala - Madonna was my inspiration......then had another spiritiual awakening and converted to Scientology - Tom Cruise made a believer out of me.
