Cheryl Burkhead (Lawrence)

We've been notified of the passing of Classmate and Majorette Cheryl Burkhead Lawrence. Cheryl was the incredible leader of the East High Marching Band. It was fantastic to welcome Cheryl back in 2011 for our 50th Reunion! Rest In Peace Cheryl. Our condolences to her family and friends.

Cheryl was my fantastic sister and friend. We even double dated. She was married 57 yrs to John Lawrence. They had 2 kids and have 4 grand kids. She retired from Disneyland after 25 yrs. Lived in Anheim Calif and both kids lived real close. The guy in the photo is a good friend from Central class of 62. He and his wife went to the reunion with Cheryl and John. I'm going to really miss her .RIP super sister. Love ya.

So sorry for your loss ,Bob. I have many great memories of Cheryl and some of our escapades. She was such a talented performer with a baton (regular and flaming) I particularly remember her gold sequined one. I had the honor of helping her sew on the sequined. She dazzled!

Cheryl, Bob and family became our neighbors when we were in jr. high.  We became best friends!  She always stood  up for me.  So enjoyed visiting them in Calif. a few years back.  She will be missed by so many!
