I ran around with Dan in high school and after, and my sister, Linda, went with him for some time. Dan was a lot of fun and I liked him a lot. I'm saddened that he's not around, even though I hadn't seen him for many years.

Don Burns

Daniel R. Wright, 58, of Freeport, Ill., formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Dr. Allen Call of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Wright was born June 6, 1943, in Vancouver, Wash., the son of Wilbur and Frances (Shuttleworth) Wright.

He married LaNette L. Puttman on Nov. 17, 1962, in Sioux City. He was a former Sioux City resident and had lived in Freeport for the last five years. He was employed with RAM Transportation.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, LaNette; a son and his wife, Kevin and Dana of Fresno, Calif.; a daughter, Danette Wright and her fiance, Greg Eytalis of Forreston, Ill.; his mother, Frances of Denver, Colo.; four brothers, Rodney and his wife, Joanie, and Russell and his wife, Jolene, all of Chicago, Doug and his wife, Carie of Forreston, Ill., and Mitchel of Denver; and three grandchildren, Logan, Tyler and Zachary Wright.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur; and a brother, Tim.

Pallbearers will be Greg Eytalis, Jason, Justin and Jordan Wright, Ryan Puttman and Coby Cooper.
