Edwin "John" Staroski, 58, of Sioux City, Iowa, died Monday, July 22, 2002, in Sioux City.
Funeral services were held, Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Donald J. Slaven officiating. Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery.
Mr. Staroski was born September 18, 1943, in Slayton, Minnesota, the son of Edwin and Verna (King) Staroski Sr. He moved to Fargo, N.D., and Sergeant Bluff as a child. He moved to Sioux City in the 1940s. He graduated from East High School and Morningside College. He served in the U.S. Army in the early 1960s.
He enjoyed reading everything he could get his hands on and music. He was a good listener and a natural teacher. He also enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his mother, Verna Staroski of Sioux City; a brother, Tom Staroski of Sioux City; a sister, Connie Taylor of Sioux City; a nephew, Hayden Taylor of Sioux City; and a niece, Hillary Taylor of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Staroski Sr.; and a sister, Laura Staroski.
