John past away October 18th 1984. He was married and had a son, JD who was 3years old, a daughter Andrea who was 2 years old, and his wife Lynne was pregnant with Richie when he was killed in an car accident. He now has 6 grandchildren.
John and I were close and had a lot of great times, some within the law, some not even close. And even on occasion we even made it to school(for you younger folks we called that "skipping").
I was in Germany when I heard the news of John...it broke my heart. I miss him and still think of him to this day.
I'll see ya when I see ya brother...
1/23 I don't know who will see this but a memory came to me. One thing John and I would do (while skippin') was to get our heads right and take turns listening to Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida with John's most excellent speakers right next to our head. So, picture it...one of us on our backs, on the floor with a speaker on both sides of the head and a drum solo blastin'.
John...how sad I was when I heard the news. I remember many hours hanging out at Gayles and Johns listening to Bob Dylan...sometimes we wouldn't even talk--we would just listen. You left us way too early John...although we never kept in touch I heard you were a great father and had a wonderful wife.
John was a unique person, one I valued and enjoyed very much. Sad the day he left and I have missed him many, many times over the years. I hope his widow and children are doing well.
