Stephen F. Maguire

Stephen F. Maguire, 55, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.

Visitation with the family present will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Memorial services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 12 Park St., in Treynor, Iowa, with the Rev. Arlyn Norris officiating. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the church.

Mr. Maguire was born July 8, 1949, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Audrey (Julius) Maguire. He graduated from Treynor High School in 1967 and from Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa, in 1971.

He married Mary Margaret Hellyer on Aug. 22, 1970, in Treynor. He was a teacher and coach at North High School in Sioux City for more than 30 years.

He enjoyed sports, especially basketball, softball and golf. He was an avid New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Sioux City; three children, Matthew Maguire of Sioux City, Molly Maguire of Des Moines and Mark Maguire of Sioux City; his mother, Audrey Maguire of Treynor; two brothers, Keith Maguire and his wife, Patty of Treynor and Frank Maguire of Treynor; three nieces; three nephews; and two great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard.
