Doug Boyle VIEW PROFILE

Douglas Edward Boyle, 48, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at his home in Bloomington, MN.  Four years ago, Doug had a kidney transplant after his kidney failed, and dialysis wasn't working as well as hoped. More recently, he has had several hospitalizations, and more health problems.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Dawn Valley Funeral Chapel and Cemetery, 9940 Bush Lake Road, in Bloomington. There will be a luncheon following the graveside services. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born May 14, 1963, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Don and Carol Boyle. He grew up in Sioux City, graduating from North High School in 1981.

Doug was married to the love of his life, his (late) wife, DiAnn Brower-Boyle in 1997, and they had a son, Nick, who is a freshman in high school. He also has two stepdaughters, Carrie Salsness (John Holmes) and Jenni Salsness-Tvedten (Ole). His wife passed away in 2009.

Doug had a wide variety of interests and abilities. He was a member of Mensa, an Eagle Scout, and known as the go-to guy for any computer problems or questions. He loved nature, and enjoyed photographing animals in their natural habitats. Doug was an avid reader, and that love of reading is something he passed on to his son. His son is also a Mensa member, and Doug was proud of Nick's academic capabilities. He was so very proud of his daughters and his son, and felt like they were his best achievements in life.

In addition to his children, Doug is survived by his parents; his sister, Susan; a sister, Sarah (Troy) Hansen; and many nephews and nieces. He has many friends who will also cherish his memory.
