I know people are going to think I'm nuts...and I am, but I loved a Jeep CJ-5 I had back in the early/mid 80s. It was so much fun! It had a soft top and bikini top. Friends wanted to pile in my jeep all the time during the summer. What a ball! I did have crazy times with it too. One time I had the bikini top on and was in meetings all day. When I came out to drive home the sun was out and it was hot, I had no idea it rained. I drove around a corner and allot of water spilled all over me from the bikini top...I guess it rained like crazy all morning! It was a rude awakening! Later, during the winter someone stole the doors off of my jeep around Christmas! It was hell driving to work with coveralls on and the heater turned on high until I got my new doors...a very cold ride!  But, let me tell you I loved that jeep!

Lets see I have had a few vehicles in my life but my favorite would have to be my first car that I bought myself. It  was a red 1971 GTO, 2 door hatch back with a 350  3 speed. That car was a blast to drive, was sorry to have to get rid of it when it started to have to many engine problems for me to fix.  I wasnt disappointed for to long though I next bought a 1979 red Camero from our friends at Charlie Zook Motors.  This car with those Keystone riims and 60's on the back and 70's on the front end, very fun car to drive. I miss both of these and would give anything to have either one of them back again.

Favorite car would definitely not be the 76 Ford Pinto (blow apart version) I had in HS.

Gotta say my favorite would be my current vehicle: 2002 Toyota Prius. Gets 45-50 mpg and I bought it long before it became popular and thus expensive. I actually got one of the first ones sold in the US outside CA, bought it right after it rolled off the transport. Only downside It has had is the back seat doesn't fold down so you can't carry anything very long (you know, stick it through the trunk, over the back seats and onto the front dash). They fixed that issue with the 2003 and sub models of Prius.

It's over 160,000 miles and still running strong - no plans on trading/selling it.. Guess I should mention that I have a Toyota Tacoma truck that I drive most of the time, my wife actually drives the car. Had to break down and get the truck since I had such a hard time hauling stuff. Does it still count as favorite car if you don't drive it much?

Right now my favorite car might have to change to the horse the way gas prices are going up. You can feed 2 horses on one bale for one month about 90 to 120 a bale and work the heck out of them, but might have a sore hiney after awhile from riding so much but fuel is getting higher might be a thought boy toss up between fuel prices and horses .....

Nice Mark

I have three, I loved my 1994 Saab 900 (140,000 miles)  followed by a 1999 Saab 9-5 wagon.  That wagon was sweet, never should have sold it.  Now I'm in love with my 06 9-3.

That said, I had a Ford Ranger extended cab with a V6 in 1989.  I could go anywhere with it.  That V6 was the perfect motor for that size 4X4.

Then again, I had a ford f-150 in the 80's.  Beat the life out of it - love a truck you can do anything with and never worry how it looks regardless the number of dents.

 - sorry about the thumbs up guy - I'm still fascinated by this new message board.  I'm very simple minded.

Brad I would have to agree with the ford ranger 4x4. i had one not to long ago.It was a 5 speed. that thing was a hoot to drive too bad son burned out the tranny on it. I also had a GMC Z71 extended cab 4x4 a few years ago. that thing was very compfy but also one hell of a work horse. Once a man has a truck he always has to have one, right now i have a old chevy S-10. dont look the best but it will haul or pull anything i want it too. And I also love this new format.

I've owned one or two vehicles in my years but have to say I love having a truck. I went without out one for a couple years and missed having it every day. My favorite so far is my current Avalanche (sorry Zook). Four doors and smooth ride for the family but fold down the back seat and you get a 1.5" narrower box with the 8' length of a full size pickup. Can haul anything and love the fact that you can lock up and cover your load.

Gotta jump in on this one.  Sounds like fun.

Favorite:  The '79 Trans Am I bought new out of high school.  Still got it.

Most Reliable:  Any of the four Hondas I've had since 1991.

Most Fun:  Tooling around S.C. in Bryan Hansen's (NHS '79) Plymouth Cricket.  The steering column in that thing was all but seized up and going around every turn was an exercise in faith that Bryan could get the car turned straight again before we would the curb, tree, fire plug, or whatever else might be in front of us.

You know I've never really had a favorite car, but when my 16 year old started driving, she wanted nothing to do with the "Loser Cruiser" also known as my Chrysler Town & Country.  It was also too big to drive.  Recently, my 20 year old rolled her Honda (she is fine) but we were looking for a replacement  car.  My dad started talking about how "safe" my college car, a '72 Delta 88 was so I did a little research and discovered that my old Delta 88 was 20 inches longer than my van and I didn't even consider not parallel parking it.  Many of us drove those old boats!

Several of my friends and I were discussing how we would drive whatever we had back in the day and were more than happy to be driving!

1970 Plymouth Fury III coupe.  What a beast...I nearly totaled it my junior year the entire passenger side was crushed yet it would not die and i drove it for another 6 months at least.  Ahhh the memories.

We all have had that one vehicle that we truly loved. I still have mine, it's my red 1982 Ford F-150 truck. It's just a basic truck with a 4 speed, an AM/FM radio and power steering. The wipers have 3 speeds (including off) and there's no A/C. I never drive it in the winter because of the salt/sand mixture on the streets.

The truck belonged to my father-in-law and he had it completely restored. A few years later he had a stroke and has never driven since.

I named it Ramone, my father-in-laws middle name.

Peace be the journey my friends

Nice ride. They don't make cars like that anymore Steve.

My 68 Impala SS fastback.  Saw a match for sale on-line last year for $55,000.  Should have kept that car!

I had a 71 Camero that looked pretty nice.  Had not much of an engine though.  I think it was a 307; had no power, so I just drove slow.  Spent way too much time and money on it but enjoyed it while I had it.  Pretty nice first car.

Call it a midlife crisis or what ever  you want but I would like a good old late 60's, early 70's muscle car.  I am afraid though that I would repeat my earlier mistake of spending too much time and money on it.

Wow!  Good Memory!   You take ginkgo or something?

I think you are right...  if we could have kept our cars they would be worth a whole lot more than the few hundred we paid in HS.  Lot a guys our age with more money than time; buying a car like they had (or wanted) in HS.

I remembered because I wanted to paint my car (eventually got it painted) and I was facinated that you were doing it yourself.  I remember you showing me the mother of pearly when you worked at red onion car wash.

Now on the flip side - I didn't remember half the people I saw at the reunion.
