This topic should be a fun one for all.

Can you guess where this quote is from?  (Hint: It's from one of Costner's many sports movies).

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. Its been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But, baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and could be again".

Peace be the journey my friends

I was the East Coast distributor of "involved." I ate it, drank it, and breathed it... Then they killed Martin, Bobby, and they elected Tricky Dick twice, and people like you must think I'm miserable because I'm not involved anymore. Well, I've got news for you. I spent all my misery years ago. I have no more pain for anything. I gave at the office.

Same Movie

See if you can guess this one:

Mr. Carter, I think I have a way out of this. We, uh, call the police, and we have 'em send over one of their sketch artists. And Miss Balbricker can give a description. We can put up "Wanted" posters all over school...”Have you seen this prick? Report immediately to Beulah Balbricker. Do not attempt to apprehend this prick, as it is armed and dangerous. It was last seen hanging out in the girls' locker room at Angel Beach High School."

Oh my God. I only saw him years later when he was worn down by life. Look at him. He's got his whole life in front of him and I'm not even a glint in his eye.

One of my top 5 all-time movies. Not just because of Iowa, a great soundtrack, or my beloved Red Sox.

My Dad, when he was 17, played short stop for Princess Hat Shop, Iowa Junior Champions in1932. Just like Costner's character said in Field of Dreams, I also was read bedtime stories about baseball's early legends and heroes. Dad died in 1971. He was 55 and life had worn him down too.

Everyone has their "Old Yellar" movie moment, this one will forever be mine.

Peace be the journey my friends

Well, then - here's my contribution:

"Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?"

"You know what word I'm not comfortable with? Nuance. It's not a real word. Like gesture. Gesture's a real word. With gesture you know where you stand. But nuance? I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong."

My favorite movie of all time:

Not that you two afflicted sumbitches know anything about this, you're sitting in a crew-cab dully pick-up. In some circles, this is considered a piece of automotive art.
