Steven Jay Lazere, 30, of Chicago and formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday May 1, 1990 in a hospital in Chicago after a long illness. 

Services ill be today in Weinstein Brothers Funeral Chapel in Wilmet, Ill. Burial will be in the Jewish Waldheim Cemetary in Chicago. 

Mr. Lazere was born Sept. 23, 1959 in Sioux City, IA, and graduated from North High School in 1978.  He worked for two years at HyVee until moving to Chicago where he was office manager for Architex International. 

Survivors include his wife, Lilian; his father, Lester Lazere of Sioux City; his mother, Leah Lazere of Chicago; two sisters, Brenda Burgess of West Bloomfield, Mich., and Janet Keiser of Highwood, Ill., and four nephews.
