Services for
'Rick' Westover
To be Nov. 22
Richard Wayne "Rick" Westover,
a former Sitka resident, died Nov. 3 in
Marysville, Wash., after a courageous
battle with cancer.
He died at the home he shared with
his life partner, Cheryl "Tweeter"
Cameron Long, daughter of former
Sitkans Tommy and Midge Cameron.
Friends are invited to join in a celebration
of his life beginning at 1 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at the home
of Carolyn and Ray Hammack, 2840
Sawmill Creek Road (look for the balloons).
Rick was born June 22, 1952, at
Sheldon Jackson Hospital, the
youngest child of Stanley and
Mardelle Westover.
He attended Sitka schools, joined
the U.S. Navy at age 17, and was
honorably discharged in 1973.
He spent a number of years working
on the Alyeska pipeline before
moving to the Seattle area.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Stanley Westover; his uncle,
Tommy Smith; and a cousin, Keith
Westover.
He is survived by his mother,
Mardelle Westover; sister Carolyn
Hammack and her husband, Ray; sister
Cheryl Westover and life partner
Mary Ann Jones; and nephew Michael
Richard Coleman, his wife, Tessie,
and their children, Michaela, Malissa,
Kaycie and Trevan, all of Sitka.
Also surviving are an uncle, Wayne
Westover, and aunt, Marlene Westover,
of Sitka; cousins Debra Dilbert
of Marysville, Wash., Diane Graveline
of Sitka, Sandra West of Juneau,
and Gail Chang of Dallas, Texas.
