that we elect members of Congress expected to reconcile disagreements, not to heighten division; it's Congress's work to govern.

To fulfill their role of governance disagreements should boldly be aired and clearly and respectfully considered and legislated with open minds. With broader knowledge and fuller understanding of the common good, Congress can find their way to compromise and ultimately consensus which builds community and coherence in the fabric of our nation.
