It is compassion that compels the pandemic to pass over our homes.

What does that mean?

I was alluding to Passover...
during the tenth and final plague, God passed through the land of Egypt and struck down the firstborn of every household.
But God had told Moses to order the Israelite families to sacrifice a lamb and smear the blood on the door of their houses so the angel of death would know to 'pass over' their houses.

Today,
during the coronavirus pandemic, we are told to stay at home to stop the spread...
to stay at home to save a life.

Let our compassion compel us to stay home, to social distance, so the pandemic can 'pass over' and save someone's life.

Thanks, Janis.  I didn't make the connection.  I'm glad all we have to do today is observe social distancing.  Smearing lambs blood would have been a tough sell with much of our populaation.

Stay healthy,

Ron

We'll never know if taking a knee with Colin Kaepernick might have saved lives.

It is compassion that compels us to support universal health care.
Why do persistent efforts to strike down Obamacare continue during the pandemic when Americans have lost their work and lost their health care?

Is a mask too big an ask?

His life was not too much for him to give.
John Lewis was big on peace, non-violence, and forgiveness.

What is love?
Love evolves as facts and truth are revealed.
The earth is not flat.
Wearing masks saves lives and should be mandated.

Somehow we are willing to bend moral rules when the transgressor pleases us.
Beware when the trap springs: it hurts.
How do we forgive people who do not ask for it?

Imagine a president who says, "It's not my responsibility; I take no responsibility."

Does the Senate give a care about the stress millions of Americans are suffering as they're left hanging with the insecurity of losing their homes, unable to care for their families, while the Senators squeeze in time for a drop-in-session between their July and August breaks? all in the midst of a raging pandemic while Trump (not wearing a mask) plays golf and tosses red MAGA caps.

What makes a country great?
