Michael Nicholas Papillo Jr. of Dover passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Dover. He was 51.
Michael was born January 21, 1958 in New Castle, Delaware, the son of Elizabeth Rogers Marino of Hartly, Delaware and the late Michael N. Papillo.
He worked as a store manager for Top City in Dover for the last eight years.
Michael enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, attending motorcycle and car shows and NASCAR. He was an avid reader and was known for his magnificent flower gardens.
He was a member of ABATE and loved his Harley-Davidson Springer and his cats.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Toni Seward.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his soul mate, Debra Fendt; two children, Sara Rene’ Papillo and Damien Michael Papillo both of New Castle; two brothers, Nicola Papillo and his wife Missy, and Robert Papillo and his wife Dee, all of Hartly; a sister, Debbie Marker and her husband Gregg of Galena, Maryland; a step-son, Eric C. Fendt and his wife Cheryl of Dover; his step-father, Tony Marino of Hartly; a brother-in-law, Ernie Seward of Hartly; two grandchildren, Olivia Jade Rios Papillo and Keira Lynn Fendt, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, July 7 at 8 p.m., in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call two hours prior to the services. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to ABATE P.O. Box 561 Dover, Delaware 19903.
