69 Years Old

Martin “Marty” Joseph Anthony Moskal, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Destin, Florida, on February 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cordelia Yvonne Moskal, and their daughters, Lindsey Nicole Moskal and Leslie Erin Moskal (Brandon Lee Forristall), along with an expected grandchild.

Marty was born in Buffalo, New York, and raised by his caring parents, Cecelia and John Moskal. He spent his childhood in Solon, Ohio, alongside his three older siblings: Carol Mikolay, Dave Moskal, and Mary Peacock. In high school, Marty was a superstar on the golf team and earned recognition as an All-State basketball player and maintained a lifelong passion for basketball and golf. In his twenties, he attended Auburn University for two years before relocating to Montgomery, Alabama, where he met his wonderful wife, Cordelia Yvonne. The couple moved to Destin, Florida in 1978, and married on July 25, 1980, where they raised their daughters. Marty was a dedicated and enthusiastic parent who never missed a school or sports event. He was a loving husband, providing support to Yvonne throughout her career, and he became an exceptional caregiver to her in her later years. Together, the family attended Corpus Christi in Destin and Resurrection Catholic Church in Miramar Beach, and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Marty was often spotted around the community in his beloved green Honda Civic RX, which was known for delivering pizzas quickly.

Throughout his life, Marty enjoyed a variety of activities, including golfing, snorkeling, music, kite flying, photography, fishing, camping, gardening, and building model airplanes. He had a remarkable memory, often captivating his audience with exuberant stories filled with intriguing facts. Known for his sense of humor, he loved to share jokes and play pranks, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Marty donated to many charities; including Knights of Columbus Emerald Coast Council, UNF Alumni, Mexico Ministries, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Association, and Master of Max Challenge. His spirit will always be treasured in our hearts and will continue to inspire those around us.
