Sheldon's nickname in high school was "Don". The quote he chose from the yearbook was by Lucy Larcom: "If the world's a wilderness, go, build houses in it."

I did not have the pleasure of knowing you personally but we were a part of the same graduating class. It saddens me that your life was cut so short. I pray that you have found peace in the next life. God Bless.

I knew Don very well. I remember meeting him his first day at SHS. It was in Mr. Burns’ math class. We also had chemistry class together. His family had moved to Somerset from Philadelphia. We were friends outside of school too. We used to hang out at the bowling alley. Sometimes we’d bowl, but sometimes we’d just play pinball. Paul Bedard and I spent many hours at Don’s house playing 3 handed pinochle.

The friendship continued through college and beyond. Eventually he opened a store in Boston called “The Gold ‘n Gift Shop”. The business was just starting to take off when he died. That was over 20 years ago, and I still find it hard to believe.

Goodbye, Don. I miss you
