Larry LyonsAGE: 53  of Jackson, NJ, died on April 29, 2014 in Somerset, NJ. Born in New Brunswick, he formerly lived in Somerset and Hillsborough. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was drill instructor at the Police Academy and also worked with children in the Middlesex County Boot Camp, through the Prosecutor's Office. He belonged to many organizations, including the local P.B.A.Mr. Lyons was pre-deceased by his parents, Ruby L, Lyons and Eddie Lee, and two siblings, Christine Garvin and Eddie L. Lee. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Renee Lyons; 5 Children Tanisha (Brandon) Coley, Larry D, Aaliyah M. and Shaaliyah T. Lyons and Christopher Johnson; 2 grandchildren Camden and Kendall Coley; 4 siblings, Carolyn Lyons Smith, Calvin D, Lyons, Sr. Maxine Lyons Gorrell and Maxzine (Roy) Drakeford; Lillian Prescott, who was like a mother and Ibrahim Muhammad, who was like a brother; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, 771 Somerset St., Somerset. interment will follow, in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Viewing hours will be Monday 9-11 AM at the Church. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service New Brunswick.
