Betty Goewey Bloyd (Sgs Teacher)

BETTY (GOEWAY) BLOYD , died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan. She was 72. Mrs. Bloyd was born in Harden to Allen and Lucy Goewey. She moved to New Jersey in 1963 and lived in Somerset for 44 years prior to moving to Whiting three years ago. Mrs. Bloyd was a homemaker until 1980 when she went to work as a teacher's aide at Sampson G Smith School in Franklin Township. Mrs. Bloyd was an administrative Assistant for Johnson and Johnson until the mid 1990's when she went into home health care services. Mrs. Bloyd was predeceased by her husband Donald in 1983, and her brother Archie Goewey. Mrs. Bloyd is survived by her four sons, Bryan Bloyd, Brad Bloyd and Todd Bloyd, all of Flemington and Timothy Bloyd of Franklin Park; a step-son Kenny Bloyd of Detroit; three brothers, Don Goewey of Griggsville, Virgil "Butch" Goewey of Beaverton, Ore. and Wayne Goewey of Normal; two sisters, Ann Caselton of Jerseyville and Alice Curry of Griggsville; and eight grandchildren, Keith, Bailey and Megan Bloyd, Christopher and Mark and Samantha and Kyle Bloyd, all of Flemington, N.J. and Larissa Bloyd of Franklin Park, N.J. Services were held Thursday, April 16 at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, N.J.
