JAMES MARANO
AGE: 54 SOMERSET
James Marano died on Wednesday at his home in Somerset. He was 54 years old. Mr. Marano was born in New Brunswick and lived in North Brunswick before moving to Somerset. He was also a part time resident of Midway Beach. Mr. Marano was a graduate of Franklin Township High School and the DeVry Institute of Technology. He retired 8 years ago from Hypercom as a systems engineer. He enjoyed cooking gourmet food as well as eating it and was very handy with fixing just about anything. Mr. Marano was a passionate fisherman. His most notable catch was a 70 lb. drum caught in the Ocean County surf, although he had many catches both aboard his own boat as well on friend's boats. He was a New York Yankees fanatic and a lifetime season ticket holder of the New York Giants.
Mr. Marano was predeceased by his father, Anthony Marano in 2005. He is survived by his mother, Theresa Marano of Somerset and his daughter, Antoinette Marano of Cedar Park, TX. He is also survived by his brothers, Anthony Marano and his wife Karen of North Brunswick and Thomas Marano and his wife Terri of Somerset. He is also survived by his 3 nieces, Lauren, Michelle, and Gina Marie and a nephew, Anthony.
A funeral mass will take place on Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. Committal services will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset.
