COACH GERALD WESLEY MILLER
AGE: 63 SOMERSET
Gerald Miller, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at St. Peter University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 63 years old. Mr. Miller was born in Elizabeth City, N.C. and moved to the Somerset section of Franklin Township 40 years ago. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, New Brunswick. He belonged to the church's Fishermen's Choir and he was chairman of the Trustee Board. Mr. Miller served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army. He was employed by PSE&G and retired about seven years ago as a service inspector. He was a Franklin Township Pop Warner Football Coach for over 25 years.
Mr. Miller was predeceased by his mother, Elnora Miller; and a sister, Cynthia Clayton. He is survived by his wife, Roslyn Miller of Somerset; and his daughters, Shelby Hyman and her husband Kevin of Somerset, and Stacia Britton and her husband Dwight of Somerset. He is survived by his siblings, Michael Miller of Connecticut, Marcia Smith and her husband Frederick of Newark, and Richard Miller and his wife Julie of Connecticut. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Symone, Sheyna, Dwight, Kevin, and Kareem.
Viewing will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday evening, Dec. 11 and 9 a.m. Saturday morning, Dec. 12 until the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Sharon Baptist Church, 25 Howard St., New Brunswick. Committal services will follow at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gleason Funeral Home, Somerset.
