Anita V. Donovan

 

Mrs. Donovan, 94, of Red Bank, died Nov. 22, 2009, in Red Bank. She was a primary and special education teacher for the Franklin Township School District, Somerset County, for more than 20 years, retiring in 1977. Mrs. Donovan was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J., in 1971; and five brothers, Joseph, Salvatore, Charles, Alfred and Conrad. She is survived by two sisters, Rosalie Bailey of Paramus, and Irene Giallombardo of Maywood; two sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Vuocolo of Point Pleasant and Marie Vuocolo of Manchester Township; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Marie Donovan of Middletown, Janet and Joe Hargett of Little Rock, Ark., Dyanne and Alan Sebastian of Hillsborough, Anita Donovan of Middletown, and Peggy Donovan and Bill Kugel of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; two sons and daughters in-law, Richard and Joyce Donovan of Rumson and Thomas and Michelle Donovan of Norfolk, Va.; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated. at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Interment followed at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Spring Lake. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Funeral Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to St. Aloysius High School, 721 West Side Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07306.
